Just watched the beginning of Sssssss and I have my first faulty disc that I need to return to Amazon. I'm only getting sound out of the left front speaker. I haven't been keeping up with this thread much so forgive me if this has been reported. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this.

Looks like Lord of Illusions is back up at $29.99. As I actually don't have any of the Scream Factory versions of these, this was something I immediately ordered and glad I did (I love that movie!)

Also picked up Escape from New York and Night of the Comet. Going to be hard to not put in another order before the end of the week.

And also tempted by Lifeforce. Recently rewatched and have been wanting to pick up since

Actually, Lord of Illusions is still selling for $12.99 and I purchased it and Escape from New York, Bordello, The People Under the Stairs, Class of 1984, The Howling, The Burning, Motel Hell, Dolls, Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps, Darkman and Body Bags. Definitely having a horror weekend!

Ah, you are right. It's out of stock, so still available at $12.99, just showing a different seller that has it in stock by default.

Yeah, they do that when they run out of stock. They start pushing items from their overpriced resellers.

Just dropped $200 filling in holes in my collection. My goal is to one day own all scream factory releases but it's hard with day 1 pricing...

Ended up going with Pumpkinhead, Lord of Illusions, and Lifeforce... None of which I've seen.

Good choices! Pumpkinhead is one of my all-time favorite 80s horror movies (saw it when it opened in theatres). Stan Winston's creature is just as iconic as alien or predator (IMO). Enjoy!

Thinking about making another order. Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood. But I'm also thinking of getting Motel Hell. But I've never seen it. Hmm...

I actually rewatched cat people recently. I enjoyed it more the 2nd time around. Very solid movie. its too bad that the PQ is so god aweful, by far the worst scream factory release I've seen (have seen dog soldiers, have not seen ravenous). Certain scenes look extremely artificial. Very good movie though deserved better.

I've been trying to significantly cut back on picking up blu-rays, at least until after I graduate and make a dent in the 44 movies I own that I haven't seen, but I just couldn't resist. I'd love to get Prison, Cat People, Sleepaway Camp, Body Bags, and The Fog, but I settled on just Ginger Snaps, since its the only one that's not a blind buy.

I hope we get another sale like this at some point. There's so many gems I'm missing.

Decided to cancel Darkman from my order. I saw it a few years ago and it didn't hold up at all. Aside from the first two Evil Dead movies, I generally don't appreciate Sam Raimi's slapstick inspired horror humor.

Snapped up Pumpkinhead and Motel Hell, though it said they were out of stock. Went ahead and ordered anyway because $12.99 is too good to pass up! Hope amazon honors the purchase.

Pumpkinhead is very, VERY grim, I guess it depends on your tastes. It's a good movie, but I dunno about replay value. I can't deal with watching that poor kid get it, nor half the victims, since the movie takes the time to make most of them likable and sympathetic. Obviously that's the point of the movie and these aren't meant as criticisms, but they're reasons why I haven't gotten the urge to watch it again since I bought it!

The Fog is something I've watched about 5 times trying to make myself like it, and I just can't. It's the Carpenter film I enjoy the least in his stretch of greatness from Assault on Precinct 13 through They Live (I haven't seen the two TV movies). It's not BAD, but I completely don't understand its high rating by horror fans (though curiously it tends to be lowly rated in horror film books).

both movies have some of the most important staples of the genre for me--

atmosphere, effective visuals, and stylish direction. These are both great movies to me because of those elements.

If those aren't important to some, then I can see these movies not getting as much love.... just my 2 cents....

btw, the boy's death in PUMPKINHEAD breaks my heart every time I see it!

If you didn't have any of these already. What would be the 1 you have to get right now before all of them?

Also put in a second order with Bordello of Blood and Demon Knight. Anyone else do the same and went back for more orders? Lol
