Which is what was brilliant about many of these casting calls though...

[Show spoiler]Drew does get killed, immediately, and brutally. Sarah Michelle Gellar, despite being a bigger star than 90% of the Scream 2/IKWYDLS cast, gets it in both. You get Jada Pinkett Smith being brutally stabbed over and over again, within the first 20 minutes, while smaller names like Elise Neil, Jerry O'Connell, Liev Schrieber, Timmy Olyphant live into the climax of the film. Then even into the 2000's, Jessica Biel and Elisha Cuthbert, both beautiful/pretty faces (one with a pristine teen image, ala Seventh Heaven as you mention) do loads of makeup work/get quite battered in their films. I guess I don't really agree that the casting decisions gave away huge plot devices/kills. In fact, the way the 80's would typically get one big name per film (typically an older actor) would almost ALWAYS give away that they lived, while the nobodies were all killed off.

Different strokes I suppose!

I would love a remastered special edition of the Changeling! The old DVD transfer of it left much to be desired.

I would also love to get House (1986) And House II both also. I used to watch both of these multiple times as a kid.
The Changeling is a masterpiece! It will eventually get a release, although I'm really surprised it has taken this long. Does Lionsgate have the rights to this title, or Warner? If Warner, hopefully it will come soon from their Archive line.

Midnight Hour is amazing as well! Everyone seems to love it and the DVD is highly sought after. Hopefully someone eventually gets around to releasing it, even if it does have the stigma of being a TV film. I would take most of the TV horror films from that era over some of the other stuff being released. There were a lot of really great made for TV titles back then, including Something Evil directed by a young Steven Spielberg that also desperately needs a release!

House 1+2 are with Lakeshore, so there's a high chance that Arrow will release them.

This is another of my most wanted films on Blu! Unfortunately the Director holds the rights, and he's holding out until a remake hits in hopes of getting more money, which sounds like it will never happen as he has been waiting for years now.

If you meant complete series, then why did you write trilogy?

Just watched an HD, widescreen copy of The Changeling, two days ago. Some dude on YouTube had uploaded it. I looks way better than the DVD OR the crap Japanese blu-ray.

How can this be uploaded to Youtube, in HD no less, but not have an official blu release?

To me complete series or trilogy of something usually means same thing as in every movie or show that follows

You don't know what the word "trilogy" means.

Hard to say, since I don't feel I have a "kind". If its well-done I'll love it. And even if its not, charm goes a long way. So, I love Leviathan, but didn't care for the Sleepaway Camp sequels. Love The Editor, but was bored by The Beast from Hollow Mountain. If that makes sense...

Anyways, based on the feedback I'll be prioritizing Ghost Story, Nightmares, and The Guardian soon

Lots of people are still waiting. Amazon sold out, and they're waiting to receive more stock from SF. Be patient - everyone that ordered will get them.

If you loved The Editor, check out Astron 6's Father's Day! One of my all-time favorites!

Seeing the cast of Seventh Heaven show up in my horror films doesn't add anything to the product, it only distracts from the end result and gives me very big clues as to who is going to die horribly, and who's going to survive or be killed off camera... pretty faces don't typically do elaborate make-up effect work.
Count me in as someone who didn't care for the Scream/I Know What You Did Last Summer period of slasher flicks. The pretty face era just doesn't seem to hold up well for me. Not a lot of replay value in them in 2016, but I will admit I was on the bandwagon just like everyone else back in the late 90's early 00's. In reference to Seventh Heaven, I will give Jessica Biel credit for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. That movie kicked ass, and goes down as one of the better horror remakes of all-time in my opinion. It came out right around the time the pretty face era was ending along with movies like Jeepers Creepers and Wrong Turn. I give most of the credit for killing the genre to the Wayans brothers though. Scary Movie 1 & 2 did immense damage at the time to the mystique of those movies.

Just finished up checking out Dolls for the first time ever a few moments ago, and am now making my way through the special features and I have to say this is/was such a fun release! I had high hopes for this film and I'm happy to say it lived up to most of them. I love these early Charles Band works... there's just something so fun about them. I was pretty impressed with the PQ and AQ on this release as well. It's not a tier one release in my eyes, but it's a damn fine Blu Ray from Scream Factory and one I would recommend to just about anyone that's a fan of practical effects, Charles Band, Killer Doll movies, or 1980's horror. This will definitely see it's fair share of viewings going forward.

Glad you liked it! One of my favorites since I was a kid. Stuart Gordon's an excellent director, in my opinion.

It's owned by HBO, so that's probably where the holdup is at. It does not look like they have much interest in releasing anything besides their current TV shows.

Has Scream Factory permanently changed the look of their Collectors ED. slips? The last 2 I got, Army of Darkness and Demon Knight don't have the classic blue stripe "Collectors Edition" on top...Escape from New York is the last "Classic" looking one I got...

I'm sorry to hear that. Personally I never understand why companies do this...take a nice idea/look that seems on all accounts to be very popular and change it. Now they just look like any other run of the mill slip....too bad.
