Shame SPM sold poorly. Would LOVE a double-feature of parts 2/3. I mean most of the extras are already done from the previous DVD set. I have hopes that some day they'll consider those. They're short films so they could even keep them on the same disc using a BD50

I'm behind I guess. Why would they get crap for releasing jeepers creepers?

Because of the Director Victor Salva and his skeevy past. He preyed on at least one young actor during the filming of his film Clownhouse and did some Jail time as a result. Because of the nature of his crimes there is a very vocal group that don't feel he should get any work, and that his films should more or less be wiped from the earth. Jeepers Creepers came over a decade after the incident but if a person familiarizes themselves with the story/nature of what happened during Clownhouse, it's easy to see some shots in Jeepers Creepers 1&2 that could be considered as pandering to Salva's appetites.

After going back and listening to the whole podcast again I tend to agree with you. The Steelbooks seemed the most obvious route and made the most sense from a limited perspective initially, but after going through everything I do agree with you now that the limited titles are likely going to be films that were only on DVD through Shout/Scream Factory previously.

Sounds stupid to give scream factory shit over releasing jeepers creepers. They aren't promoting kiddie porn, they aren't making it, or anything else. I'm still buying them because I like the movies and I'm glad scream factory is putting them out.

Yeah he is a scumbag for what he did in his personal life but I still like some of his movies, I dislike him but no reason to want his movies not released.

Shame so many people can't just ignore what they don't like instead of needing to ruin it for everyone. I hate our politically correct society anymore.

Kind of wish scream factory would have the balls to put out clownhouse despite the complaints and worry about their fans more than what some whiney ass Internet drones say. But I can understand not wanting to get hatred rained on them just for putting a movie out.

agree but that is just stupid and to me the movies should be released anyhow cause in this day and age there always going to be group of people who b**** about something. Companies need to learn to just ignore that.

Cause if they complaining based on that then why arent those same people complaining about Mike Tyson, Jeffery Jones (The principal from Ferris Bueller Day off) which is ironic cause of the scene he breaks into the house, paul reubens (aka pee wee herman), Roman Polanski (directed Rosemary Baby, Chinatown, and more), and much more.
all those people are registered sex offenders and Polanski actually fled to France and remain to prevent extradition.

So if those people can have there movies released without backlash i see no reason jeeper creepers and clownhouse to.

And guarantee it those same people would then shut up and not know what to say and come up with some stupid excuse like oh well those movies were more mainstream and these arent and etc. js

8-9 Collector's Editions within 7 months is a lot. I'm sure many of these won't be surprises; some of the predictions talked about here are sure to materialize: the Child's Play series, Misery, Carrie are all shoo-ins. I'm disappointed about titles like the SPM sequels, Blood Beach and FN2 being denied but I can understand that bigger, more popular titles are what sells and that's what SF will continue pursuing. I never upgraded my MISERY DVD because it was a generic release and this film deserves better so I'll be happy if this comes to fruition. Poltergeist II & III would be awesome as Collector's Editions.

If SF really believes there's a viable market for Clownhouse(which there could be), a good gesture would be to offer a portion of the proceeds to a charity for abused children.

I got the impression those 8-9 CE's were scheduled for the last 3-4 months of the year. I can't recall there being so many in one year.

I hope they consider licensing out Slumber Party Massacre 2 and 3 if they're not going to do them. If Scream don't think it's worth upgrading them, and if they're able to, why not let someone else release them instead of pulling a <insert certain other company> and holding them hostage.

Trust me, I am too. My top 3 Waters flicks are Cry-Baby, Cecil B Demented, and Pecker. 4th would likely be Polyester though. I just don't particularly like Serial Mom.

The reason Clownhouse is different from other titles mentioned -- a child actor (Nathan Forrest Winters) that appeared in the movie (the main star actually) was sexually abused by Salva during production. I'm pretty sure the legal ramifications of releasing the movie are just as much a worry as fan backlash. Didn't Winters threaten MGM with legal action when they came close to releasing the DVD?

then in that case by that logic wouldnt that mean most of Corey Feldman & Corey Haim and multiple other actors child star movies should be wiped from existence?

Feldman and haim both spoken out multiple times about abuse as child stars of being abused by older males during productions including "The Lost Boys". As have many other actors when they were younger. It a unfortunate theme that been common in hollywood for many many years and alot people just pretend it dont exist. It just that all these people singling out specific movies for no reason since it only certain movies being singled out need to learn to seperate actual movies from those connected to it.

They gave a pretty emphatic response of "not interested" when that title was brought up and it's hard to blame them. Considering the passionate response they've gotten over Jeepers Creepers it's safe to assume that Scream Factory will never release Clown House, so it's pointless to continue asking for it from them. This is a film that perhaps a foreign distributor will release, but I don't see anyone in the US touching it this generation. The amount of backlash went beyond social media as it was referenced that the controversy started to spill over into publications as well (they didn't specify which ones) and that's not the kind of attention Scream Factory wants. This goes well beyond us wanting/asking for a certain title like we all do (Tales from the Hood, Slumber Party massacre 2/3, Sorority House Massacre II, etc) as Clownhouse carries with it a large amount of Legal red tape, negative ethic/moral attention, and for a select few, very hurtful memories. Listening to the interview it's apparent that even releasing Jeepers Creepers was a heavily discussed issue, so Clownhouse is a solid no.
