I recall reading that Impulse was an ABC title, and so is with Disney, which essentially means we won't be seeing it on Blu anytime soon, through Scream Factory or otherwise.

I'm still waiting on Lord of Illusions from the Amazon sale. I understand that it was temporarily out of stock but this was the one I was most excited for! Oh well haha still a great deal. As long as I eventually get it.

I just found out yesterday that Best Buy has The 'Burbs (and The Money Pit, The Dream Team, and a couple of others) as Best Buy-exclusive Blu-rays through August. They are no-frills releases, but they are on BD....

Impulse was released on DVD by Anchor Bay in 99 and by MGM in 2003.
MGM's site lists the film as one of their titles: http://www.mgm.com/#/our-titles/944/Impulse

It was indeed released on DVD by MGM, but apparently licenced from ABC, like other titles (Hell in the Pacific, The Last Valley, Too Late the Hero, the Kolchak films, etc). As I understand, these titles have reverted to ABC (so Disney) now.

That MGM site seems to list a number of titles to which they no longer have access, or may only have broadcast rights for.

Yes, and I believe The Midnight Hour (1985) is one of those ABC movies locked away at Disney. It was also released on dvd by Anchor Bay back in the day.

You aren't the only one... None of the OOS titles I ordered have ship dates except Body Bags which now says "Expected by Jun 1st" not quite sure if that means it's expected to ship by June 1st or expected to be back in stock?

I'm sure this has been asked and answered- do all Scream Factory titles come with slips?

Reverted back to Alliance a few years back. Possible Synapse release in years to follow, considering they have had a past deal with them.

I asked on their Facebook page this week. Was told "we'd love to release it but can't get to the rights" so no SHOUT for now.

I'm a huge John Carpenter fan and also a fan of the original Village of the Damned. I never saw this movie until tonight. After watching it, I thought it was decent. Not great by any means but also not bad. I liked the atmosphere of the town. There were several good homages to the 1960 original. It was great to see Christopher Reeves again. Still makes me sad what happened to him. It's especially touching watching this because this movie came out in late April of 1995 and his riding accident was one month later.

Overall, I think the picture quality looked very good.

Once again, Scream/Shout delivered awesome extras. This is actually the reason I blind bought this movie. I always love Sean Clark's Horrors Hallowed Grounds extras. Perfect blend of horror history with also a little humor thrown in. There's also a newly filmed almost 50 minute retrospective on the making of the film with Carpenter today and also 4 of the ( then) child actors now all about 30 years old. What everyone has to say about the film is interesting. Even the old EPK stuff they throw in is good, with 1994/1995 interviews with Carpenter and Christopher Reeves and Mark Hamill.

Overall, the movie is decent. If you're a Carpenter fanatic or love Scream extras ( they're the only studio other than Criterion that makes quality Blu-ray extras it seems like any more), then I recommend it.

I don't think we'll get a new title announcement today since it's a holiday, but I think we can expect at least 2-3 this week.

So the people who drove Shout! away from sending out screeners also drove caps-a-holic to shut down their comment section.

Good riddance. Their comment section was the troll's den anyway. Caps comparisons are still there and that's the only thing that matters.
