If Universal are willing to licence out The Thing, American Werewolf seems a certainty, providing Scream believe they can improve on the existing release. Big Trouble and The Fly would, for one thing, require a new deal with Fox. It's been a good while since Scream released a Fox title. And whether or not they'd be willing to licence those particular titles out is another question.

These all have great releases and don't need the Scream CE treatment (then again, you could say that about a good many of their releases.)

The Fly could certainly benefit from a new transfer. I had hoped Fox would release something with the 30th Anniversary in mind. I guess we'll find out soon.

I need a Scream Factory edition of American Werewolf in London to replace the current Universal release. Nothing really wrong with it, just want the original artwork and some more extras. A better transfer wouldn't hurt, either.

Despite crappy VHS quality transfers, this may have been the best $4 I ever spent on a DVD.

Quick question for a Scream newbie: I saw they just had a sale in early-mid May. I didn't jump on several of those during the sale and am now regretting it.

How often do they tend to have similar sales? Is there a certain pattern (i.e. every few month) or is it also certain times of year (i.e. Halloween, Christmas)? Thanks! I don't want to miss the next one.

It's $6.59 on Amazon. I may have to invest in that. The funny thing is the only one of those I would actually buy a Blu-ray of is Ghoulies III.

Have you seen the HD master that Netflix had? I was shocked at how good it looked.

With the 30th Anniversary we should definitely be getting something right?

Why? These are already available on BLU-RAY in wonderful editions, for very inexpensive prices. What's the problem? And why the "oh noes" emoticon?

Summer of Fear sale in June or July. After that, October.

Don't be surprised if Criterion ends up getting The Fly. The other two could potentially be Scream releases, especially Big Trouble if their work with Carpenter is an indication.

Would love a Shout Factory CE of The Fly but if Criterion did it I wouldn't be mad at all.

Because these titles make money and stores like Best Buy will carry them, plus the previous Thing Blu is hardly what I would call a "wonderful edition"

I don't recall saying anything about The Thing. If I did, can you please point it out to me?

Maybe some folks like SF, wish to support them, and see more of their favorite films put out by them....regardless of what might exist on the open market.

I like and support SF...I'm currently waiting on several movies to ship. But clamoring for them to release movies that already have perfectly fine and in some cases exemplary presentations makes little to no sense.

Hopefully The Thing sells well enough that Scream can afford to do some more obscure stuff (I imagine it will). I want my Joe D'Amato double feature!
