Only seen Club Dread and Super Troopers but those films are like 5th grader-humor, very very corny and not funny at all. I cannot believe they managed to put one movie out, let alone 4! Humor is subjective but I could not find one redeeming quality in those two movies!

There's something to be said of a movie that is clearly smarter than the main characters are. That's how I get enjoyment out of comedies like Super Troopers, Idiocracy, Wet Hot American Summer, & Pootie Tang.

Curious, do you happen to own Psycho 2 and 3? The reason is I'm trying to get them complete with their slips. Thank you.

I finally got my order from Amazon I made a month ago when they had Scream Factory titles for $12.99 & $13.99:

Sleepaway Camp II w/ slip
Sleepaway Camp III w/ slip
The Class of 1984 no slip
Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight no slip
Shocker w/ slip

It's gonna bug me till I can find the slips since almost all my Scream Factory movies that should have them (minus these 2 and The Funhouse) but I just ordered Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and The Prince of Darkness from the Summer of Fear sale so hopefully they'll come with their slips.

What if I told you that Scream Factory has a critically acclaimed, cult (classic) title in the pipeline, that definitely feels more sophisticated than majority of their output...what would your guess be?

Winner gets a half an hour long head patting.

Silence of the Lambs. I suppose not exactly "cult" but critically acclaimed, and more sophisticated, and due for a remaster . Still hoping Criterion puts it out one day.

Yeah, I agree Silence of the Lambs is anything but cult, but that doesn't mean Akijama wouldn't use the term to describe it. Everything else fits! Hard to guess without any other clues, though (ex the decade).

Btw, I just noticed that zbinks is now the OP, something that probably should have been done a long time ago, but still better late than never.

I'd guess Cronenberg's Dead Ringers. Their acquisitioning of certain Morgan Creek films makes it a possibility.

Despite being a classic and not being a stupid movie, I definitely wouldn't say it's more sophisticated than most of their output, instead it's right in line with their output (including its sequel)! Dead Ringers seems like a really good fit for that description. Isn't that like Robocop and Silence of the Lambs where Criterion had it at the start of the DVD era and lost it? The difference here being apparently the studio has no interest in releasing it themselves on blu-ray.

Here's hoping this is a release of something that isn't out on blu-ray yet. Some other Cronenbergs are MIA as well, like The Dead Zone, Crash, or Spider, and wouldn't be COMPLETELY out of place. (I know Rabid/Shivers are completely out of the question in this country, not sure about the others)

Try watching Super Troopers drunk. It works.

EXORCIST III...the restored director's cut.

Actually, if I can pinpoint a few, this would go in line with what they've been doing as of late;

CHILD'S PLAY (Sprung by director confirming commentary)
CHILD'S PLAY 2/3 (Collector's Editions, also makes sense being as they said they wouldn't do them since Universal was putting them out, but since those releases are barebones and they've got the first - again, makes sense.)
AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (Being that they're doing 2K scans of releases and alternate versions when applicable, just seems to fall in line with that mindset.)

Do I get the half an hour long head padding or a cookie for extra credit?

American Werewolf in London was going to be my 2nd guess. It's the film's 35th anniversary this year too.

What about Bubba Ho Tep. It's critically approved, a cult classic, and it's a pretty sophisticated entry in the Elvis vs Monster genre.

Bah, I'd probably go with Silence of the Lambs then.

I'd say the same. And if they have it, I suspect they also have American Werewolf in London, and hell, possibly even Alligator. Maybe the entire podcast was reverse psychology?

What a tease btw. Akijama - do you know if said title will be an October release? At least then we'd be put out of our misery soon enough.

Maybe Akijama is just referring to Carrie, and hinting at it from the opposite direction
