Exorcist III? FINALLY! i enjoyed that one since i saw in theaters as a kid and should be a nice different version worthy to my Exorcist BD collection.

Child's Play in 2K? neat.

Anyone hopes they will announced Child's Play 2 in a CE in 2K remastering and extras abound even commentary by Don Mancini to other stuff even extended TV cut with deleted scenes? maybe even Child's Play 3 and 4 in CEs as well.

Personally, I think for three reasons:

1) I know times may have changed, but it's a bit nastier than Scream's usual retro output. I remember the higher-ups at Shout nixed Ms.45 and Massacre at Central High, so I don't know if they'd approve of this.

2) The existing transfer is surely about as good as this particular film is going to look

3) The existing extras are pretty great too, and some of the key players (Craven, Hess) are no longer with us

I could be proven wrong on all 3 accounts of course. The first needn't matter, but 2 and 3 are serious considerations. Still, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Scream release it some day.

Seems like Scream Factory is putting out every horror film that MGM owns. Wonder if this means they will announce The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal soon?

The Poltergeist trilogy would be fantastic. I am a fan of all 3 films.
Tales From the Hood is another

I would love MOTHMAN PROPHECIES

I wish they'd put out some more double features of the more obscure titles like The Caller, After Midnight & Night Visitor. I've a feeling their double feature discs don't sell very well, but I love having garbage like Destroyer & Edge of Sanity.

I never thought about 1, but you're right, Scream Factory does definitely seem to make an attempt to keep things "clean" when it comes to horror movies. LHotL has some scenes that are far nastier than anything I can think of in any Scream-released film. I'm totally fine with them doing that, by the way. It definitely makes sense that they'd sorta stick to the less disturbing stuff given how many people blindly buy everything they put out. Wouldn't want to alienate the customers with something like that. They seem to be about "fun" first and foremost and that movie is anything but.

My understanding that most of their more obscure releases just aren't selling.

I mean, SF said that Slumber Party Massacre is a poor seller. I can only imagine what something like Zombie High or White of the Eye did.

It's weird to me that White of the Eye got so ignored. It's got some recognizable actors in it, has some crazy stylish killings, and has machine guns and explosions in it. It seems like it would have similar mainstream appeal to many of their other 80s slashers. But, nope, seems like it just got ignored entirely. Guess it didn't have any name recognition from VHS days or something.

Anyone could have guessed that White of the Eye wouldn't have sold at all (it sold terribly for Arrow, as well), but I'm still shocked they released it, it's so out of their normal wheelhouse. I bought the Arrow steelbook because I was terrified of Scream's encoding on that particular title and the Cammell doc is fabulous, but it's easily the best film they've released. It's a shame it didn't get much love, but they still manage to toss out some gems that won't sell much, like You'll Like My Mother. I suppose we have all of their re-releases to thank for that.

Regarding LHOTL and its controversial nature, SF has put out the Human Centipede films which I would construe as more extreme in many ways than LHOTL (outside of the rape angle, but there's still plenty of human degradation in the Centipede films). But, of course, Human Centipede is under their deal with IFC so Scream can kind of skirt responsibility if need be. Anyway, I don't see an issue with LHOTL's controversial subject matter at this point.

All Scream needs to do is create a few more extras (Hallowed Grounds, maybe a historian retrospect, maybe a new transfer) - then add a slipcover with exclusive art - then a Deluxe Edition with an extra slipcover with different exclusive art to sell on their own site - and voila! The best version of LHOTL out there. And I'd buy it! They may even add a Neco Krug doll and sell the deluxe edition for $100 and it would most likely sell out within 24 hours.

I don't jest. I truly believe we will see LHOTL eventually from Scream, and probably not that far off.

I didn't realize they'd done the Human Centipede movies. II does have some scenes that are nastier, though I guess the fact it's in black and white and has the tone of something created by a giggling 12 year old takes the edge off there. I guess it just wouldn't fit with anything they've done collector's editions of, but whatever, you're right, they'll probably do it eventually.

If Scream Factory were to suddenly take a stance where only this or that was acceptable for their line I would honestly lose a lot of respect for them. Let's be honest, LHOTL isn't an easy film to watch content wise, but very little is actually seen on screen. This is/was a major piece of genre cinema history and it shouldn't be disqualified from the line because it works with reality rather than the fictitious. Am I chomping at the bit for yet another double dip (in my case it would be a triple did as I already own the DVD as well) no. However if we're just going to release every major title MGM/Universal own, then let's do it right and release everything they have and not cherry pick around certain films because modern audiences can't handle a film that doesn't have it's tongue planted firmly in it's cheek and/or isn't filled with Humor to offset what's happening on screen.

I still want When A Stranger Calls... Back!, one of the best Universal franchise catalog titles yet to be released in HD.

And Scream Factory should have no qualms about releasing it, since it was a made-for-premium cable tv movie, like Psycho IV and Body Bags.

Not only do we all want it, it'd make an excellent button. Plus think of the slipcover possibilities. It could use a raised embossed skull with metallic ink and introduce a whole new level of slipcover design.
