That is kind of a bummer. Hopefully they have some special announcements they are saving for comic con.

Well I was 2 for 5... I gotta say I don't think anyone would have guessed Raising Cain was worthy of a Button. It also doesn't bode well for the immediate future if that was the best they could offer. At this point I think a generic Scream Factory logo would have been as good of an offer as that. I can't say I'm surprised though... comic con has always fairly disappointing with the best announcements coming before or after the convention. I'm not expecting anything from the announcements this year either, but maybe something will surprise me.

Agreed, I think that Friday they will announce future titles correct?

I wouldn't expect any more announcements until Comic-con in two weeks. Perhaps an IFC film or two, but nothing catalog related.

Yep you are correct. July 21st Comic Con kicks off, and since that's so close, and they are planning several announcements, I wouldn't expect to see anything else announced between now and the panel at that time outside of perhaps one or two more IFC films.

The Price to beat on the Human Centipede The complete sequence from what I've found is $35. If this goes below $30 I may need to jump on it. I only need part 3, but the inclusion of the Colorized version of part 2 is enough for me to double dip on the whole series.

Have you seen 3 yet? It's ****ing horrible. Of course I bought the boxset cause I'm a completionist, but I'll likely never watch that movie again.

I had no idea that a colorized version is included.

It's one of the few movies I've started and won't finish. It was just that terrible. And I don't mean offensive. Just out and out bad.

Yeah I watched it when it first premiered, and I do agree that it was pretty abysmal. With that said I tend to be a completionist in most things, and more than that, it's such a goofy series that I would like to own them all as I've been wanting to watch it again to see if It has improved any now that I know what to expect.

The set is/was selling for $29.99 today though so that's still a pass. I want it for $24.99 or less. I would have picked up just part 3 forever ago if it would drop in price, but the association with Scream Factory has kept the price artificially inflated since release. Ideally I'd like to spend $10 for it, but would go to $15.

Why would they announce those now and not at comic con like usual?

Because they said they will be announced in late June / early July?

They signalled an intent in the podcast to announce these in late June rather than at SDCC. And given the kinds of titles I expect them to be (mostly 50s and 60s sci-fi/horror, with some later titles), I don't think they'd go down terribly well if announced at SDCC, which is usually reserved for reasonably high-profile 70s-00s titles.

I dunno about that, looking at those posted lists of the last few years, they seem to have a habit of blowing their load just before SDCC and then announcing mostly niche titles there like Blood and Lace or (ugh) Garbage Pail Kids. Nightbreed was a gigantic one that they did save for it, but other than that, I dunno.

Well I did say 'usually reserved' and 'reasonably'. I'd say on the whole the obscurities are kept to a minimum, and 70s-00s titles are certainly the order of the day. That being said though, I think we'd all welcome a few lesser lights again this year (so long as they're not along the lines of Garbage Pail Kids of course).

They might hold off those announcements for SDCC if they're short on other titles to announce.
