Anyone have any thoughts on Bite? I saw it at Best Buy and am thinking of blind buying it.

I haven't seen it myself, but have read nothing but good things about it from the few places that have taken the time to write about. It's one of the few indie films on my radar at this moment, Baskin being the other big one that I will for sure pick up day one. What's the in store price on Bite?

The effects are mostly practical and well done. That's about it.

Not the first movie but the 2nd one was at one of the Best Buy's near me believe it was the only copy left didn't get it cause it was $19.99 if it was cheaper would've gotten for around $ 14.99 for sure.

Yes, I picked up JP2 at BB for $19.99, which is actually a good price considering it was $22.99 on Amazon last time I checked. These are never going to hit $14.99, though.

EDIT: JP2 is down to $21.06 on Amazon.

There was that manufacturing issue where the copies of JC1 weren't sealed. They probably had to send those copies back to SF and never restocked.

I definitely want to check out Baskin as well. And Bite was only $12.99 with the slipcover so i'll more than likely pick it up the next time i'm out!

If you like films like The Fly (1986) or body horror type films I think youll enjoy Bite quite a bit. The beginning is a tad slow but it does pick up. The effects are also really good (& slimy

Bite was good, but you spend 90% of the movie in the apartment with only 1 or 2 people on screen at a time. A visit to the doctor instead of a phone call, for example, could have really helped to break up the monotony. The main character also talks very slowly (likely to hide an accent). Only at the very end do you get a different location and actual extras in a scene to add a sense of scope. It's almost jarring.
