By terrible I mean, this whole one day per movie before it grays out is idiotic. I thought they were having fun just putting up a new movie every day just to keep everyone guessing what could be next but you would still have time to buy the past ones.
It promotes impulsive buying and is a solid strategy. At the end of the sale everything will be available again though at $1 or $2 higher prices. I do agree that the prices could be a bit more competitive but this is how the last several years of sales have gone and it does work.

If you buy a SF release from Diabolik in October, you're automatically entered to win a deluxe limited edition of Return of the Living Dead. Not a bad lottery to be in

So does my copy of The Hills have Eyes count for that? I pre-ordered it months ago but it just shipped out this week which was when I was charged.

Source or proof of sales numbers and stats from past years please?

Ha! It's time for me to go to bed. I read that original comment as "make a purchase from diabolik..." not "Purchase a Scream Factory title from Diabolik..." So yeah definitely not going to count. Thanks for the correction.

If it didn't work they wouldn't keep re-using the same sale multiple times per year for the last several years. Also, it's gotten myself and many others on this site to make purchases over the years so clearly it works. Would lower prices and a different format work better? Perhaps, but the fact that they keep using this system says to me that they are considering it enough of a success that it's worth revisiting.

My only problem with the sale is that I've been keeping up with new SC titles pretty well. The titles Im wanting are older ones

Pupkinhead II
Psycho II
The Dark Half
Lord of Illiusions
I Saw What You Did
Army of Darkness

Since they are only adding a few more older titles next Monday Im figuring most of mine prob wont be available anyway and even if they are am I better to just go with Prime?

So before I eventually replace these titles, has it been a consensus that the transfers are indeed improved and worth upgrading for The Return Of The Living Dead, Carrie, Road House, The Thing, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure?

I just don't to get stuck with an inferior transfer ala Dog Soldiers. I read some of the reviews here and they seem to be positive but I haven't really delved deep and read a bunch of reviews.

I can personally speak for both RotLD and Body Snatchers. RotLD looks great, not a crazy huge improvement but with all the special features, slightly upgraded transfer, it's worth the purchase. Body Snatchers I think looks way better on SF release, a big upgrade transfer wise.

I was checking out Carrie screens on caps-a-holic and it seemed like a better transfer. The Thing, while a better transfer, it has a lot of people divided, some don't like the color timing approved by Dean Cundey (I believe it's pushed a little more towards blue). I personally have not upgraded this but fully intend to since I really want all of the special features in one place. I'm not overly attached to my cheap blu I bought 4 years ago. The rest I haven't looked into since I don't plan on buying them any time soon.

Which only leaves Ben and Willard from the SDCC announcements. This ties in perfectly with Scream promising new announcements at the end of the month, as I'd be surprised if February's line-up only consisted of two titles (that's if Ben and Willard are even coming in February). I expect Shout might announce 2 or 3 'smaller' titles, and perhaps a couple of higher profile ones perhaps for later in the spring (like they did last year around Halloween, with TCM 2 and Manhunter)

Maybe we'll get the Poltegeist artworks today? If not, definitely next week. Dead Ringers specs must be imminent too.
