I have heard the same thing about music rights. I would imagine it would be quite an issue getting all of the rights cleared (aka paying people) for release.

Probably the only person in the world who would be excited by a Dracula 2000 release...

Would love to see Scream Factory release some Fulci. Do they have a deal with Anchor Bay? Where is Don't Torture a Duckling? Anybody know who has the rights to Conquest??

Untrue. I really like that flick. But it'll never happen.

It's honestly quite surprising that this hasn't been announced yet. I 100% believe that this film will happen at some point though. I've got the Alliance release so I'm not nearly as eager to double dip as folks looking to snag it for the first time, but this is a fun film that fit's perfectly with the line so I feel like its release is inevitable.

It's apparently with Blue Underground, but they're reluctant to release it because they think it won't sell, which is a head scratcher considering what they've released.

Yeah, this bothers me so much. They release Manhattan Baby on blu (arguably one of Fulci's worst films) and claim that one of his most praised films won't sell. Meanwhile Germany has a special edition that costs over $100 and a standard version which is $50. And they continue to release these Jess Franco flicks which are even less popular. I'm honestly not sure if BU still has the rights to Conquest though, I know Bill has lost some of his rights to those Italian films, so we may seem some show up at Severin/Code Red. I don't think SF would dip into the mid to lower tier Italian films, even though I would like them to.

What Italian films have they released anyway? I'm aware of just these and I own the first five: Troll 2, Metamorphosis, Beyond Darkness, Ghosthouse, Witchery, Curse II: The Bite. Ghosthouse I liked the most, followed by Troll 2, then Beyond Darkness and Witchery.

Exactly. Bill Lustig said his DVD of Don't Torture a Duckling had poor sales.

The head scratcher for me is how Bill Lustig doesn't understand why his Don't Torture a Duckling DVD didn't sell well. It's common sense. His DVD was a re-release since Anchor Bay already released a DVD prior to his. Most who wanted it already bought the AB DVD. If he released it on blu, it would be the 1st blu & he would be getting all of the sales. I'm flabbergasted that he doesn't get that simple fact.

I think a blu of DTaD would far outsell Manhattan Baby.

Maybe if Manhattan Baby has good sales Duckling will be next. Franco titles sold well so they keep releasing them so why not do the same with Fulci.

Doesn't that have a HD transfer already? I remember watching some of it on Netflix.

Wasn't Dolls (1987) Italian? Or at least it was an Italian/American co-production
