Yeah, figures after I tracked down an imported version lol. Still, probably pick the Shout version up as well.

The Man from Planet X is coming from Scream Factory on July 11th.

Also the Scream/Shout Factory Amazon pre-orders for July all appear to be up now. (Except Windows, which I can't seem to find on Amazon at this time, everything else I checked is up for pre-order though)

I'm definitely blind buying The Man from Planet X.

The Man from Planet X was directed by Edgar G. Ulmer, who directed the 1945 film noir, Detour, which is the best movie that you have not seen. He also directed People on Sunday (1930) and The Black Cat (1934).

Never seen The Man from Planet X, since it hasn't really been available for a long time, and wasn't even aware it was directed by Ulmer. His The Black Cat is excellent, and Detour is one of my absolute favorite noirs.

Don't forget Bluebeard, an enjoyable entry in the 'Tortured Artist Who Murders' horror sub-genre, with John Carradine, and a few additional noirs - Strange Illusion, Murder is My Beat, and Ruthless. A very interesting guy with an eclectic and unfairly forgotten career that also included Yiddish and Ukrainian-language films, musicals, and nudist movies.

The Man From Planet X is standard low budget 50's sci-fi fare but if you like these kind of films (as i do) you wont be disappointed.
I'm sure The Great Owl will like it.

Given that the pre-orders have gone up on Amazon, I'd be surprised if they added any further releases now. That said, it is a pretty light month in general by Shout's standards.

If we are done for the month, we can probably expect the 4 known titles in August. Hopefully we'll get a couple more on top of that. September-December was collector edition heavy last year, so I'm expecting something similar. Misery, Matinee and Child's Play 2 & 3 seem likely. Maybe they'll surprise us with a few non-MGM/Universal titles.

You should def. check out the THE BLACK CAT. Probably my favorite Ulmer after DETOUR.

Of the ones I've seen, of course.

They are fun. The choices that they make in order to have Norman be relatively a protagonist are pretty unique and interesting.

Yeah, I expected THE BAT PEOPLE and VICIOUS LIPS in July, which are the only two on their unannounced list that I have any interest in. So only three in July for me (the double feature, MAN FROM PLANET X, and WINDOWS), and I guess two in August (unless something as yet unannounced drops unexpectedly).

I'm ok with that, considering how much of the first half of the years slate I've been picking up/have preordered.

I want to pre-order Slither, does anyone know if you get charged now or when it ships if you pre-order with a credit/debit card?

It depends where you pre-order, Amazon does not charge until they ship the item, and you will get the lowest price, because it will drop below the current $34 price tag.

I think if you order directly from Shout they charge when you order, but others here should be able to confirm this. I rarely order from them direct as I have Amazon Prime and do most of my shopping there.

Shout charges you immediately if you use PayPal, but if you use a credit card they don't charge til it ships.

I wouldn't mind doing Amazon for Slither & Serial Mom, but I like that you get it 2 weeks early through Scream Factory haha.

Decisions decisions.

Why not wait for a lower price?

It's still like 4 months before Slither comes out and so 2 extra weeks will not make that much difference to me. The DVD is pretty solid and so I can wait.
