The Man from Planet X is coming from Scream Factory on July 11th.
Also the Scream/Shout Factory Amazon pre-orders for July all appear to be up now. (Except Windows, which I can't seem to find on Amazon at this time, everything else I checked is up for pre-order though) |

I'm definitely blind buying The Man from Planet X.
The Man from Planet X was directed by Edgar G. Ulmer, who directed the 1945 film noir, Detour, which is the best movie that you have not seen. He also directed People on Sunday (1930) and The Black Cat (1934). |

Don't forget Bluebeard, an enjoyable entry in the 'Tortured Artist Who Murders' horror sub-genre, with John Carradine, and a few additional noirs - Strange Illusion, Murder is My Beat, and Ruthless. A very interesting guy with an eclectic and unfairly forgotten career that also included Yiddish and Ukrainian-language films, musicals, and nudist movies.

The Man From Planet X is standard low budget 50's sci-fi fare but if you like these kind of films (as i do) you wont be disappointed.
I'm sure The Great Owl will like it. |

anyone else really hoping they knock out the remaining couple minor titles, beside teen wolf and teen wolf 2. just think it would be nice if we could almost clean the slate..

Given that the pre-orders have gone up on Amazon, I'd be surprised if they added any further releases now. That said, it is a pretty light month in general by Shout's standards.
If we are done for the month, we can probably expect the 4 known titles in August. Hopefully we'll get a couple more on top of that. September-December was collector edition heavy last year, so I'm expecting something similar. Misery, Matinee and Child's Play 2 & 3 seem likely. Maybe they'll surprise us with a few non-MGM/Universal titles. Last edited by BarnDoor; 04-07-2017 at 02:30 PM. |

If you go in expecting a movie that is anywhere on the same level as PSYCHO, you will be disappointed, but if you go it to have the quality of an average slasher from the '80's, II and III are better than that. They are fun. The choices that they make in order to have Norman be relatively a protagonist are pretty unique and interesting.

I'm ok with that, considering how much of the first half of the years slate I've been picking up/have preordered. |

I think if you order directly from Shout they charge when you order, but others here should be able to confirm this. I rarely order from them direct as I have Amazon Prime and do most of my shopping there. |

It's still like 4 months before Slither comes out and so 2 extra weeks will not make that much difference to me. The DVD is pretty solid and so I can wait.
