Agreed! With the output of BU, Severin, Synapse and AB ranging from sporadic to non-existent, Scream/Shout and Kino/Redemption are really the only US labels consistently releasing genre titles. That's not to slight Scorpion or Vinegar Syndrome, it's simply that they've just gotten started.

I also liked the Friday announcements to keep us informed. I sincerley hope they dont stop announcing altogether leaving us in the dark. I really dont want the outspoken minority of whiners ruining it for the rest of us...maybe they will just pick a day to announce something. When you do announce things there is bound to me some negative comments but in this case its from whiny internet trolls who probably cant afford to buy the movies and are just haters.. I dont want a few bad apples to spoil the whole bunch ..

The only fact we know is that 700 is the approximate number of films Warner got from Paramount for a 3 year period...
my understanding is that if the film had been released before on DVD, it went to Warner Bros. The titles Paramount held onto are the ones they plan to release. I don't think they will be licensing out any other titles.

pretty doubtful. it just won't sell enough copies to warrant the new transfer.

That's disappointing. Everyone's got an opinion and some will like an announcement or piece of artwork or not, but it's sad that it has dissuaded Shout from posting that info.

I never expected it it to be an ongoing thing anyway, because if it was every Friday, you'd have announced every acquisition in short order I'd think.

I just hope you won't let the haters mess a good thing up, Cliff. Despite a grumble here and there, I think we all love what you guys are doing even when a particular title or cover isn't up our alley. I know I've purchased all but 1 title so far (and I plan to get it).

You're doing great work and just in case this part doesn't happen too often, Thank you and your team for the great releases and work.

Sorry, didn't realize that negative FB comments cut so deep.
I thought the rampant jubilation and excitement with each and every announcement out weighed any negativity.

Just don't blame US for Facebook. (You should hear what they say about us over on HTF. ) If we say we don't like this or that cover, here, you at least know people who buy cult Blu-rays are saying it.

I have the theory that the intellectual level of discussion is inversely proportional to the general accessibility of posters to the forum:
A hobby forum like we have can have some reasonably polite and interested discussion, a highbrow ultra-niche "Only we know what we're talking about" forum like HTF can specialize in round-table details, and something universal and mainstream, where anyone can democratically wander in and post, like Yahoo!News or YouTube Comments, can be bad-spelling, cellphone text-posts and the last post-Usenet bastions of Troll Town.
You may guess which end of the scale Facebook might sit. I don't come to BR.com to be Liked, Friended or post Saturday-night drunk iPhone photos, and I don't go to Facebook to discuss Blu-rays. Wherever you go, you take the crowd you get, but don't punish one for the other.

The haters are really the one's who love it most, but that still doesn't give them a right to douch-up your company's fan and resource pages. Let's see them go out and do half of what you've done Cliff!...

I would too, I think "Hospital Massacre" is a well-known title, but "X-Ray" isn't.
I prefer the "X-Ray" title, but more people know "Hospital Massacre".

BUT I WOULD KILL FOR THIS ON BLURAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it should be put out on blu-ray. I would think the film's following speaks for itself. I have a vhs of Xray and I wish I could just skip up to blu...

Maybe doing it as a double or triple feature could make more copies sell.
Combine it with The Godsend, or Schizoid. Or both.

Not because they were announced at the same time, but because those titles seem to be the one's that wouldn't have new transfers and would be iffy on getting them re-scanned or upconverted. I think combining the fans will make these titles sell better, enough to warrant a blu-ray release.

I normally am the type of person that hates unrelated films in multi-packs, and I don't normally say this, but please combine these flicks!! I would rather have them in a 3-pack than not at all on Blu-Ray!

Thanks Cliff

All forums think all other forums are the "laughing stock of the video reviewing community"...everyone knows this!

Yet, the most fascinating thing is those people that think that...still post away! So there is that.

I wish you guys had Suspiria too! I have a region free player, but from what I've been reading, the different overseas releases have all had issues with the contrast in the transfer (amongst other things), and frankly, if I'm paying the extra money to import, I better be getting a quality product (Arrow's release of Tenebre not withstanding...). At least you guys would do a quality release.

Oh, and **** the Facebook haters.

It's been announced for April. By the looks of it, it appears to the very similar (if not basically a port) of the Masters of Cinema release...

And is it in the 1:77 to 1:85 aspect ratio? That's the most important thing to me.

I hope so. I am very appreciative for all that Cliff and Shout Factory have done with these releases, Collector's Editions or otherwise, but I really can't shell out money for dvds ontop of blu-rays. I would gladly talk myself into buying the blu-rays but really can't go for dvd onlys.
I'm sure there are fans that would buy the dvds, just not me.

But thanks so much for all the current and upcoming blu-rays. They're phenomenal and I hope most, if not all, Scream Factory titles get BD releases so that I can support your great comany as much as possible.

I'm not trying to sound picky, but that's just me. I'm in school and its kinda difficult to keep up with everything all at once.

Who is *****ing about these releases on Facebook?! I really hate FB fan pages and some of the people that post there. I noticed the same thing on sites from Busch Gardens to the Philadelphia Eagles, so you are guys aren't alone. This is why we can't have anything nice! Anyone who is a "fan" of the work you are doing would be offering positive input.

Let's just take a second here and realize how shitty these type of horror and cult films are treated by most major studios.

Saw the blurb about The Fog tonight. Can't wait for that one!

It would be sweet if you guys got Sleepaway Camp. I can't see that getting a Blu-ray release anytime soon otherwise. And, while we are dreaming, can you release Downfall for Sony since they refuse to?

What I did was just buy a multi-disc blu-ray case and put my US DVD in with it. Might get the art cards downsized to fit in too at some stage.
I might buy that release. Wish it had the Italian track too.

I was on the Scream Factory FB page, and someone mentioned there being an alternate score to "The Fog" that John Carpenter has, and a hard to find alternate film version of the movie (which I guess would be an alternate cut).

Does anyone know if this is so, because I've never heard this before...
