Count me in for a blu of the original AND SOON THE DARKNESS, it's a fantastic thriller. Brian Clemens has to be one of my favourite screenwriters. The dvd could use an upgrade.

A perfect companon is the THRILLER boxset, though largely shot on video so wouldn't be worth an upgrade. The episode 'Screamer' would be a cool Pamela Franklin/Clemens suspense double bill.

I think the original And Soon the Darkness... is with StudioCanal, which means we won't be seeing it from Scream (unless something dramatic changes).

I haven't seen And Soon the Darkness since my film course in college. A really good film. I love the mod character.

When does the sale begin? Got about 12 bucks to spend and I wanna pick up 5 or 6 titles I missed the boat on but I'll only buy them if they have mint slips.

Hopefully there's another discount when you buy a certain number of titles or spend a certain amount, because 50% off isn't that great when SRPs are so high and some titles have been found for less than that at retailers.

Yeah, even the old Collector's Editions were cheaper during that last amazon sale (they were mostly like 13 bucks). 15 isn't terrible or anything, but it's not cheap enough that I'm going to go nuts picking up all those scattered movies like without warning that weren't worth 20 bucks to me to blind buy.

Yes.

I've seen the film twice and enjoyed it both times. It's a murder mystery as much as it's a supernatural horror flick. I would describe the horror as whimsical at times. The cinematography and setting remind me of another gorgeous film, Far From Heaven.

The story is told from a child's perspective, which I always like in horror movies. I watched Parents recently and really enjoyed that one as well.
