My first batch of Scream Factory sale Blu-rays were at my doorstep when I swung by my place earlier during lunch.

Man, that was quick.

What's everybody's opinion of The Nature of the Beast? I'm not exactly pining for a Blu-ray upgrade but it's a damn good movie and would seem to make an ideal Scream selection. A twisty desert thriller with Lance Henriksen and Eric Roberts at each others throats...probably De Salvo's most accomplished film.

And while we're on Henriksen (and why not? I just revisited one of my favorites the other night, the brilliant biker epic Stone Cold), Survival Quest features probably my favorite Lance performance and it'd look jaw-dropping on Blu.

I haven't seen The Nature of the Beast for a long time but I remember really enjoying it, especially with the constant questioning of who's the thief and who's the serial killer. Henriksen and Roberts were great. It would make for an ideal Scream release.

On the topic of Nic Cage movies, one of my favorites (and one of the first of his I ever saw) is Guarding Tess. I'd get that on Blu-ray if it ever came out.

I love horror movies about people being hunted down through the woods. Southern Comfort, The Final Terror, Just Before Dawn, etc.

Scream Factory releases of Hunter's Blood and The Prey (1984) would get me rushing for my wallet.

(I mean, as we all know, there apparently aren't many Scream Factory titles that don't get me rushing for my wallet, but releases of those particular titles would be quite nice.)

What makes Radish mildly interesting (unlike everyone around him) is that, while the character is theoretically smitten with the sort-of leading lady of the film, the actor playing him is clearly gay, which creates a curious disconnect/tension between dialog and performance. In addition, although we are supposed to view Radish's dogged pursuit of her as some sort of sweet puppy-love, his nervous, edgy vibe reads more as creepy, boundary-violating stalker. Still, kudos to the set-designer for outfitting his dorm room with a Corpse Grinders poster, however unlikely a decoration it may be.

Yeah you share my affinity for wilderness survival films. Have you seen Survival Quest? First-rate outdoors adventure that pairs extremely well with stuff like White Water Summer and Shoot to Kill (sorry Scream fans to get so offtrack here.)

I personally found Hunter's Blood dire though and I can't ignore the dismal ratings for stuff like The Prey.

I love both The Nature Of The Beast (definitely De Salvo's best) & Survival Quest, i would buy them both!
I would love to see Sean S. Cunningham's The New Kids get a blu ray release.

Isn't Nature of the Beast with New Line? That would rule out a Scream release; indeed, a Blu-ray release in general is probably unlikely, which is a real shame.

I decided to just pick up Dolls on Amazon, it was only $2 more and it wasn't available on the site until July 7th and I hate waiting.

Not to mention, I got free same day delivery. (Amazon killing me with the $35 every time though)

The only line you need to know from "Deadfall" is, "Vive la fu**kin' France, man!" Once you see the film, that line will be seared into your brain.

But that would be so much effort when this is so much simpler...

1 [BD] Alienator
1 [BLU-RAY] The Amityville Horror Trilogy
1 [BD/DVD] The Autopsy Of Jane Doe
1 [BD/DVD] The Beast Of Hollow Mountain / The Neanderthal Man
1 [BD] Beyond The Gates
1 [BD] Bubba Ho-Tep [Collector's Edition]
1 [BD/DVD] The Burning [Collector's Edition]
1 [BD] Cherry Falls
1 [BD] The Curse / Curse II: The Bite
1 [BD/DVD] Deadtime Stories
1 [BD] Firestarter [Collector's Edition] + Exclusive Poster!
1 [BD] The Funhouse [Collector's Edition]
1 [BD/DVD] Jack's Back
1 [BD] Lady In White
1 [BD] Leviathan
1 [BD] Murders In The Rue Morgue / The Dunwich Horror
1 [BD/DVD] Night Of The Demons [Collector's Edition]
1 [BD] Nightmares
1 [BD] Nomads
1 [BD] Poltergeist II: The Other Side [Collector's Edition]
1 [BD] Poltergeist III [Collector's Edition] + Exclusive Poster!
1 [BD] Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings
1 [BD] The Return Of The Living Dead [Collector's Edition]
1 [BD] Slumber Party Massacre II / Slumber Party Massacre III
1 [BD] Tentacles / Reptilicus [Double Feature]
1 [BD] The Thing [Collector's Edition]
1 [BD] Time Walker
1 [BD] Up From The Depths
1 [BD] The Velvet Vampire

This catches me up on most of the titles I've been interested in getting. Of course, a couple titles slipped my mind, but if this is a success hopefully it becomes an annual thing.

Nice haul!

Glad to see a few other folk went a little crazy (in a good way) with the sale besides me!

Ended up dropping Session 9 and Crawlspace. Crawlspace sells for just over $12 on Amazon, and I feel like Session 9 will drop cheaper in the future somewhere, so I went for Bulk and picked up all the double features.

I saw yesterday that someone gave Virus a 5/5 rating. Is it any good or come even close to that score? It never really struck me as something I need to rush to watch.
