Why do you think it's likely they made a deal with Paramount, TripleHBK?

To be clear I have no proof to substantiate my claim, however when looking at how Scream Factory has licensed titles in the past, the titles that best fit within their line, the lack of Paramount licenses/announcements from pretty much anyone/everyone, the workings of the previous Warner distribution deal, and the well established path to success Scream Factory has blazed in the last 5 years leads me to believe that they are likely to be the front runner if anyone is able to license titles. Since we've seen Paramount license a few titles to Kino, it's within reason to assume they are willing to license at least the lesser horror titles they have no plans for. Stuff like April Fools Day, My Bloody Valentine '81, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, and the lesser Stephen King titles all seem very probable. Pet Sematary II and Friday the 13th could pose a bigger challenge to license due to their name brand recognizition, however I don't think they'll be treated all that differently other than carrying a higher price tag to get a hold of.

Paramount also recently announced a new DVD set for Friday the 13th however hasn't said anything about a new Blu Ray release. This could be because the license to the films 1-8 on Blu ray of have been transferred to Shout (or another company) and they will announce their own collection at a later time.

Time will tell, and ultimately I may be way, WAY off in my estimation, however given the timing of things and past history I feel like the odds are quite good that we'll be seeing something from the Paramount catalog that we haven't seen before on Blu Ray in the next few months from someone.

Hoping this sale went well for Scream. This was the first sale they did, that everyone decided to jump on.

They will likely start announcing them next Monday, perhaps through to the end of the week (or into the next, depending on how speedy they are or how many titles there are). It's almost certain that Hell Night will be one of them.

After my 2nd order made on Fri 6/16 got a partial shipment this morning I contacted Shout regarding my 1st order made on Mon 6/12 that had available items but no shipments.

I got this response:

"there was an issue with that order at the warehouse, but I have corrected it. The items that are available now should ship within 1 business day."

Of course there's a few less items available now than when I ordered, so we'll see if they'd already pulled any of the items that are now out of stock.

So, if anyone else has an order with available items but no partial shipments, you may want to check in on the order.

I forgot that Hell Night was leaked, that should be a Collector's Edition, I'd think they could get Linda Blair to do some stuff, she's popped up at my local Wizard World convention several times.

If Scream has Paramount, then we may get Prophecy (1979).

A Paramount deal would keep the line going for years yet (providing it isn't limited). There's plenty of potential for CE's (both new and double-dips) and standard releases, with some obscure fare in the mix. I think these relevant titles are with Paramount - there's probably more, and I might be wrong in some instances:

Blood and Roses
Lady in a Cage
The Psychopath
The Vulture
The Penthouse
Targets

Let's Scare Jessica to Death
Unman, Wittering and Zigo
The Possession of Joel Delaney
Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter
Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell
Bug
King Kong
The Tenant
Orca
The Shadow of Chikara
Prophecy

Phobia
My Bloody Valentine
The Fan
The Dead Zone
Fighting Back
The Keep
Explorers
Silver Bullet
Young Sherlock Holmes
April Fool's Day
The Golden Child
Pet Sematary
Friday The 13th Parts I-VIII

Graveyard Shift
Tales from the Darkside
The Addams Family
Body Parts
Amityville: It's About Time
Intruders
Pet Sematary II
Addams Family Values
Amityville: A New Generation
Fire in the Sky
The Stand
Rumpelstiltskin
Vampire in Brooklyn
Amityville Dollhouse
Escape from L.A.
The Ghost and the Darkness
Breakdown
Event Horizon
Night of the Demons 3
The Relic
Switchback
Ringu
The Haunting
Ringu 2
Sleepy Hollow

Ringu 0
What Lies Beneath
Domestic Disturbance
The Ring
Red Eye
The Ring Two

If this is in reference to the William Friedken release from 2006, it's with Lionsgate and a possibility for the Vestron Line as it's been released on Blu Ray over seas.

I'm sure barn was referring to the 1975 film BUG with Bradford Dillman and produced by William Castle - and it is with Paramount.

I thought Pet Sematary 2 was with Warner?
And Rumplestiltskin is with Lionsgate.

Yes to all of these! Although What Lies Beneath was Dreamworks, unless Paramount owns it now?

If you have read the book, I advise against the theatrical. But I haven't seen the DC yet.

I thought the DC was better. I'm not a huge Nightbreed fan though. I enjoy it but honestly David Cronenberg's performance is a lot of the reason why I like it. Without him I probably wouldn't really care for it.

Paramount released Pet Sematary 2 on DVD. Has it changed hands since, the Warner distribution deal notwithstanding?

I stand corrected on Rumplestiltskin. I was going on Amazon, who say it's with Paramount (I thought it might be, being a Republic title):

Looks like Paramount are re-issuing it on DVD in August, so I guess they must?

Adding to this, I would throw in the fact that Shout has worked tirelessly to release every episode of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" that they can possibly ever release, and they have done such a good job that (other than titles issued by Rhino which they have not yet reissued) the only movies left to license are all either owned by people who disapprove, people who want too much money, or owned by Paramount. I don't know if they'll succeed, but I'm sure they're pushing really hard to get Paramount to open up to them at least a little.

Rumpelstiltskin is part of the Republic Pictures library which is owned by Paramount. Lionsgate used to have a distribution agreement with Republic, but that ended several years ago.
