I can't wait to see it in HD!
The dvd wasn't all that hot either... the best part is the cast (Catherine and Kelly specifically) are always eager to partake and be apart of anything involving the movie. This release, if Scream got in touch with them could have some amazing extras. I read an interview a while ago when the dvd came out the cast were disappointed about MGM's lack of interest in doing extras... There are some cast and crew for movies that love talking about certain projects they worked on. This is one of those...

Does anyone know who has the rights to the original "Night of the Demons"?

I know Olive is putting out "Night of the Demons 2" on blu-ray, but what about "Night of the Demons 3"??

I hope that Shout does an amazing job on this release!

The artwork should look amazing, I believe Nathan Thoman Milliner is doing it, so it should be great.

Hey Cliff, how about including a memory feature on your Blu-rays so that when a disc is stopped we don't have to start from the beginning? Thank goodness Shout doesn't cram forced trailers and other junk down our throats like Lionsgate and Universal do but it's still annoying to have to navigate thru menus to pick up where we left off. It wouldn't be so bad if the chapters weren't spread so far apart, but it would be so much easier if this feature were available.

It's also a bit strange that the discs don't have chapter menus - is that a cost issue?

All 3 Night of the Demons films were produced by Blue Rider Pictures. I'm not sure how Anchor Bay figures into the original but both sequels were distributed by Republic. It would seem as if the producers own the films outright and Republic just handled distribution, which would mean they don't control the film in perpetuity as I thought. My feeling is Blue Rider will probably shop at least the original around to a third party. Synapse recently acquired the DEMONS films so maybe they have NOTD as well. Fingers crossed.

The FYE in my town is going out of business at the end of February, so they're having a big sale until then. Managed to get Death Valley, The Island and Terror Train for $50, so I'm just now missing one release from having a complete collection.

(And does anyone know where I can find a place that sells slip covers? My copies of Terror Train and The Funhouse don't have one.)

No Problem!

Seriously, this is an extremely well-rounded release. This is certainly the most difinitive edition. And with this number of extras, this is the most filled Scream release so far.

i disagree. serpent & the rainbow and ghost story has plenty of replay value not so much with the other two.

Serpent and the Rainbow is actually pretty well known too.

I'm in High School and there are other guys on the Baseball team who've talked about it before. That should tell you something. Lol.

"Serpent and the Rainbow" is pretty underrated if you ask me. A really solid Craven flick with plenty of creepy imagery.

Not sure if this is a sign of something, but Dark Sky Films is mid-way through updating their site. Not sure why they'd do that unless somethings going on with them. Maybe they're finally getting back into the swing of releasing titles, or going out for good...

And, speaking of Dark Sky...

Is Warner Bros. planning on ever getting around to releaing "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974)? The Dark Sky release was great, but I'm bordering picking it up or waiting on the new edition...

CLIFF,

Any reason why you didn't or couldn't (as far as we know) pick up
"The Howling II" from MGM??

Also, thanks for being the best company around. I really do hope you continue with those announcements.

I personally think it is a much better movie than The People Under The Stairs.

Having Prince of Darkness, People Under the Stairs, Serpent and the Rainbow, and Ghost Story would be ideal. I love all four films and hope they're released at some point in the near future. Also hoping Shout/Scream pick up Shocker.
