I blind buy most of my movies and very rarely do I make a mistake, but this one was crap. Boring and cheesy.

Do you like musicals and/or rock operas? If not, then it's probably not a safe blind buy.

I think it's better than Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's silly, though not as silly, and the music's better.

Here's their international catalogue (of over 1,000 films), but I'd assume most are domestic as well:

Shout sent me an email the other day telling me I'd receive $3 off my next purchase if I agree to review Hell Night. They need to adjust the computer that sends out these automatic emails

I think, in hindsight, I may enjoy them more now if there were decent presentations with plenty of extras and Shout having access to at least 3 of those sequels maybe they should release a set. I'd buy it without missing a beat.
I've sat through some of the sequels over the past year & I still don't like them. The only good Howling movie IMO is the first one.

Now that Scream Factory is doing more modern films, I'd love to see them get their hands on CRY_WOLF from Universal. It's fun but also scary (for a slasher). I remember the killer being super intimidating and brutal, using a big hunting knife. The cast is great (despite including Bon Jovi of all people), and it really captured an eerie, dark tone that fit perfectly with the grisly subject matter.

It's like a post-Scream slasher meets light torture porn. And it's one of my favorite horror films of the '00s.

There was also a really weird text-based online game released by Universal when it came out that was sorta based off the way the killer toyed with his victims in the film.

I've mentioned this one a few times as well. One of the better modern slasher type movies for sure. Seems like it would fit will in the SF lineup.

The Paul Naschy Collection II and Attack of the Puppet People arrived at my doorstep today. #soblessed

I also acquired Windows earlier today when I saw a mint condition copy at a used Blu-ray store down the street. I stopped there to unload some old DVDs that I had upgraded or am upgrading to Blu-ray (Vampyr, Raw Deal, T-Men, etc.) and to unload my existing Fritz Lang silent film Blu-rays in anticipation of the box set coming out next month.

Windows is one of those Scream titles that intrigues me, but that I was saving for a later date or a future sale, so I gladly took advantage of the opportunity.

I'd be down for this movie. Hahaha, that online game though... I played THE SHIT outta that game. It was still up long after the movie came out too. Was kinda sad when they ended it.

Okay. I'm considering something that (in my eyes at least) would be pretty drastic.

The stress of collecting slipcovers for these CE releases is killing me. Overpaying on ebay to get a copy with slip, when I could be getting three films for that price. Trying to decide if I want Scream's CE's that month or to hold off... but for how long?

Anyway, I'm considering selling them all (the slipcovers) on ebay and just going with the original artwork side displayed in clear cases. I think that'd be a way to keep my weird collector's OCD in check without all the added pressure. It's cheaper in the long run probably, and I could use the money from the older title's slipcovers to buy the cases.

But I don't know if I can essentially part with such a prized slice of my home video collection so easily. So I want a second opinion.

What do you guys think? Has anyone done something similar? Anyone else considering removing Scream Factory slips from the equation altogether too? I'm genuinely curious about others collector's mindset and how you guys view this situation I've got myself in.

Yeah it was up for a long while after. I played it well into like 2010, 2011 probably. Cry_Wolf is just a great mix of fun and darkness. A blast, in my book.

I just sort of roll with the fact that there are some Collector's Edition titles in my collection that do not have slipcovers. Night of the Demons, From Beyond, etc.

I do not fixate on slipcovers, but I do love to see well-done slips from the likes of Scream Factory, Vinegar Syndrome, or Mondo.

My rule is that, if a slip is in perfect condition, then I keep it around. If not, then I throw it out as just another piece of cardboard.

I still like collecting them, and am missing several. It doesn't kill me if I don't have them, but I'd like to - before you put them on ebay, if you do, please send me a message and maybe we can work something out!

I used to be like that but then just decided to stop worrying about it. Thankfully I never overpaid for one with a slip. Now if I get a slip great & if not then no big deal.

I don't understand the appeal of a random piece of cardboard, or why people consider it a part of their video collection. A lot of times, I don't even like the artwork, I pull out the cover and use the flip side for most of their releases. I would never criticize people for collecting them, but if it is causing you stress, I would say you should sell them and, as you say, spend the money on additional films in your collection instead.

I was never a slipcover nut but I do enjoy them. When Scream released The Fog I reversed the art sleeve to the original theatrical poster and put it in a sleek black case. I loved the way it looked so much that I did the same to at least 2 other titles and they look gorgeous. If I could find more black cases I'd do it for all of them.

I sell or throw away slipcovers, so no stress here. Since slips are usually the same as the art on the case, or worse/not original art, it makes the decision easy for me.

People that want titles with slipcovers should buy them soon after release instead of waiting.

Variety is the spice of life.
Thank God for that or we would be no better than a hive of bees or a colony of ants.
