Amazon just alerted me that my preorder of Hell Night has been pushed back to Jan 2nd. Bummer but not too bad I guess.

Silver Bullet is supposedly region Free. I'll be picking that one up in early 2018 as well.

The Blind Dead hit Blu -- well, one of 'em, anyway! Scream Factory have Amando de Ossorio's NIGHT OF THE SEAGULLS (1975) lined up for release this February.

Quote:
We have a new title to announce today coming soon in 2018. The 1975 Spanish horror film THE NIGHT OF THE SEAGULLS (aka: Don’t Go Out at Night and Terror Beach) will be flocking to Blu-ray on February 13th. You can pre-order it now @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...eagulls…

When a doctor and his wife move to a coastal village, they encounter strange and terrifying things: the town harbors an ancient evil that demands ritual sacrifice! For seven consecutive nights, the undead come from the sea to demand the horrific deaths of the town's young women!

Fans of SEAGULLS know that it is the final film in the cult-film favorite “The Blind Dead” series. The other films in the series have not been released on Blu-ray which would naturally beg the question: Why start with the last installment? Our best answer is that the licensor that we acquired SEAGULLS from (which is the same one we got the Paul Naschy films from) only controls SEAGULLS. At this time, we don’t know who the successor of the first three are but we are looking into in order to bring the whole series out if we can.

Excited about this, although a box set would have been a killer announcement.

I'll probably wait in the event that their efforts to acquire the first three are successful. Indeed, it seems a little odd releasing this if they're looking into getting the rest, which would surely lead to a box set release. Suggests to me they're not especially hopeful.

Is anyone here interested in buying any of the exclusive Scream Factory site posters? I’ve got around 15 or so, plus a couple Shout Select ones as well. I have no use for them. They’ve never been hung, and most of them are folded since they were ordered before they started rolling them. If interested, please PM me. Thanks!

This is the 13th title from the Victory deal. I wonder if Scream picked up any more? As far as I'm aware, they also have these:

The Dracula Saga
Malenka
Demon Witch Child (Code Red)
Night of the Walking Dad (AKA Strange Loves of the Vampire)

Code Red released Demon Witch Child on DVD, but do we know if they still have the rights? I also read somewhere that most of these would require new HD masters, so maybe Scream might not bother.

I think I'll wait for a complete Blind Dead boxset.

Aren't there picture quality issues with that Victory library? They won't let anyone create new HD masters or something?

I think they will, but such work would have to be done in Spain I believe, which apparently put paid to the interests of Arrow.

I'm not sure if it's legitimately PD, or not, but I suspect not. As a foreign work, I believe it's copyright status in Spain, the country of origin, would extend to all other members of The Berne Convention (the US joined in 1989).

Cool, I've only seen the original once and that was a few years ago, but this looks pretty good.

Hoping they secure the rights for the rest to put out a killer boxset. I have the coffin set so this one will depend on some great new features, if they have some new cool extras it's a buy.

You should definitely check out the whole Blind Dead series - very unique, low-budget, Spanish horror flicks.

The Blind Dead series - some of my most coveted upgrades.

I believe some German company is working on the whole series and have been for some time now?

Is there a new one announced? I have not heard that, but know there is a German Blu box a couple years old that is garbage.

Oh, I wasn't aware. Frankly, I don't know. IIRC there was talk about it this year or last, but it may very well turn out to be that old box that was talked about.

I just seem to recall that someone said they were going to do new transfers of them all. But I may be misremembering things here to be honest.
