Ideally I think WAC would be the better option for most of Warner's library, but they just have so many damn films in their vault there's no way WAC would ever get around to putting them all out. That's why a licensing agreement badly needed to happen.

There are certain films though that I would rather Scream handle, such as those that deserve the deluxe (collector's edition) treatment. Alone in the Dark, Alice, Sweet Alice, The Cell, Return of the Living Dead part II, all the Nightmare on Elm Streets, etc. Releases like those would need to be loaded and WAC wouldn't give them the love Scream would.

An uncut Dream Child would be fairly easy, I think.

Now, if they could somehow find and restore the original Nightmare 4 workprint, that would be truly amazing.

I think we need to keep our expectations realistic. I don’t expect anything monumental from the Warner deal right at first at least. I think even the Nightmare films may be a stretch.

We can but dream of Abby...

Of the Warner titles unreleased to Blu-ray, which ones do we think could get the CE treatment? I'm thinking these:

Alice Sweet Alice
Cruising
Alone in the Dark
Razorback
Deadly Friend
The Hitcher
(if HBO titles are on the table, and if it is indeed still with HBO)
Witches of Eastwick (if they could get it)
Return of the Living Dead Part II
Memoirs of an Invisible Man
(purely for Carpenter)
Judgment Night (might be one for the Shout Select line though)

You never know. Scream Factory came right out of the gate with two Halloween sequels.

I wouldn't expect them until 2019/2020 anyway. That'd probably be a massive project and its way too soon to expect much movement on it.

Something like the Xtro trilogy, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Return of the Living Dead 2, Alone in the Dark and the Guyver movies are definitely something that could happen later this year.

Doesn't that Razorback blu-ray have lossy audio though?

A CE of Razorback with lossless audio would be cool.

As long as somebody releases it... Warner Archive, Criterion, or now possibly Shout Select... I'd be a happy camper, as it's my most wanted film on Blu-ray.

I was about to mention having an Arnold Schwarzenegger commentary track, but then I realized I mixed this up with "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot".

That said, I still approve of a blu-ray of DTMTBD. An early childhood staple of mine.

Umbrella's forthcoming 4K remaster will likely correct everything wrong with the current disc (lossless, 50Hz) and it'll probably be region-free as well. That is, whenever they get around to set a firm date...

Does Warner Bros. still have the rights to the Sonny Chiba Street Fighter series and The Crippled Masters?

Those would be perfect normal Shout Factory release (or perhaps a Shout Select box set for The Street Fighter films).

For as much hate as Dracula A.D. 1972 appears to get, it's one of my favorite Hammer Dracula films, second only to Horror of Dracula. Would be an easy purchase for me.
