If the Warner deal is fairly deep it will also make the SDCC announcement (providing Scream continue this tradition) a touch more interesting than recent years.

Great news! That also gives me hope that they'll get the waaaaaaay overdue Sonny Chiba Street Fighter films for their Shout factory label, especially since I'm pretty sure that Cliff is a fan of the wonderful Sister Streetfighter films. Hopefully Scream will do the Hammer films justice, because they're rarely treated right. Now if we can just get someone like Kino to make a deal with Warner. So many fun films of WB were unjustly condemned to the Warner Archive, like the '69 classic western Heaven with a Gun , or the early pre-code classics like Kongo & White Woman and a hundred other WB -owned films. Oh well, I can dream... back to Scream Factory... |

For those who are curious about the Fair Game Blu-ray from Umbrella...
![]() Jessica, played by Cassandra Delaney, runs a wildlife sanctuary in the Australia Outback, and is unsettled when she discovers that three hunters are illegally killing kangaroos on her territory. She is later harassed and antagonized by the hunters when she travels into town to alert the authorities. Afterwards, the men follow her home and victimize her in a series of sadistic games. Fortunately, Jessica is smarter, faster, and more adept in the wilderness than the men. The hunters quickly become the hunted, and, during a climactic showdown, they learn the hard way what happens when they mess with a woman. The 1986 Australian survival thriller, Fair Game, thankfully eschews the sleazy exploitation aesthetics of American movies of the era for the most part, and the more disturbing aspects of the story are implied rather than shown, although the hunters are clearly portrayed as redneck “good old boys” who cross the line with their quest for mean-spirited fun. The end result immerses the viewer in some occasionally cartoonish, but brilliantly intense action sequences reminiscent of the Mad Max films. Vehicles drive off of cliffs, an obnoxiously huge truck plows through a house, a character meets a violent death by way of electric shock, a stuntman jumps from one vehicle to another during a chaotic car chase, and our female protagonist uses multiple well-engineered booby traps to turn the tables on her tormentors. This film benefits greatly from the isolation factor of the unforgiving setting. During one highly suspenseful scene, Jessica evades the hunters by hiding beneath a rocky ledge. While the men stand above her and search the area with their gun scopes, a snake crawls over Jessica as she struggles to remain silent. Since this is Australia, where there is a strong probability that a snakebite will leave you badly dead, this sequence provides quite a few white knuckle moments. Fair Game will not make you a better person or change your worldview, but, when it comes to explosively fast-paced Outback action goodness, one could do a lot worse. This Umbrella Entertainment Blu-ray sports an impressive video presentation befitting of this film's rugged charm. The audio shines as well, and brings out the best in the sound effects and gunshots. The interview with the beautiful Cassandra Delaney is a joy to watch, especially because she looks back fondly on the film. I'm currently enjoying the commentary track with director Mario Andreacchio and writer Rob George. Sadly, I cannot get the rest of the extras to work on my region A Sony Blu-ray player, although the movie, the main interview, and the commentary work just fine. I'd like to watch the director's short films, but I'll have to wait until I can get them working on my player or on another player. |

Maybe we'll get an Easter sale instead this year. Plenty of marketing opportunities to be had then as well. If we're being honest though, I'd prefer they skip the smaller traditional sales if it means we get another site wide substantial week long sale in May/June again this year.

![]() I notice that Killing Ground doesn't get a lot of love in this thread. Quite understandably, I guess, because it's an icky movie, but still... |

After I saw Killing Ground, I wanted to go to the park, adopt some puppies, volunteer at homeless shelters, and help make the world a warm-and-fuzzy place.
I quickly got over that phase and went back to buying and watching a lot of Blu-rays, but the impact that the movie made on my psyche cannot be denied. It's a pretty grisly and bleak affair. |

RE: Judgment Night (1993)
Just read another thread where someone thankfully informed me that Warner Archive has release Richard Linklater's SubUrbia on DVD. Was hoping for a Blu Ray but the DVD will have to do! Anyway.... Suburbia was released 3 weeks ago and I didn't even read an announcement for it. I went to order it and noticed that JUDGMENT NIGHT was also released.....ON DVD ONLY!!! https://www.wbshop.com/products/judgment-night-1993-mod Does this mean that we can forget about a potential Blu Ray of this movie? |

That is what I mean mate. I see it get requested alot on here, myself included and it gets a rather low key re-issue on DVD from Warner Archive. Really surprised a Blu Ray wasn't announced for this one.

They have upgraded Warner Archive MOD DVD's to Blu-Ray, before, but there's really no telling whether an MOD DVD release would preclude them from licensing Blu-Ray rights or not. We're in uncharted waters, for the most part.

Find me a 35mm print of Nightmare 4 that looks like the Blu-ray, and I'll buy you lunch. I've seen one screened. It was nothing like the Blu-ray. And furthermore, if the bus scene in Nightmare 2 was always supposed to be colored red like on the Blu-ray... why is this scene still blue in the credits of Freddy's Dead? While not train wrecks, there is certainly plenty of room for improvement should Scream Factory be able to release new editions of the Nightmare movies. |

Decided to take advantage of Amazon's $14.99 price for Carrie. Between what ive already gotten & what I still plan to get, this will the most SF titles ive picked up in such a short period of time thanks to the Amazon price drops.
