Is anyone else disappointed with their menu screens recently ? They used to be either animated or have the side bar alongside movie clips but now it's just a static shot of the case artwork which sometimes has some background music.

I actually love the menu for "Drage me to Hell" I thought it was cool.

Is Red Shirt Pictures the only US production house doing Blu-ray extras?

He said there are plenty of titles coming from Vestron, but didn't announce any.

He did say that the people behind the Vestron line have discussed Nightforce but they're unsure if they want to add action movies to the line or keep it all horror. And he also mentioned again that Eyes of Fire has been discussed, but he wasn't sure on its current status.

I don't think so. I think he just meant Red Shirt Pictures' own workload is larger than it has been, with them working on more titles this year than they have in the past.

Doesn't look like any announcements today. But we should hear something by the end of the week I would think for the June titles.

That's a really good sign. Red Shirt was slammed in '17.

Thanks for the head's up on this price drop. I just grabbed it at $15.62, but that's still a great price. The extras look amazing.

Hi, all. I just recently discovered Scream Factory blu rays and I'm totally hooked. I love the old 60's, 70's horror movies, but the quality was such utter crap on Amazon. Seeing the blu ray restorations is a complete revelation. Besides SF I also like the Arrow releases. I have a multi-region blu ray player, so I'm able to play Region B stuff.

Some I've seen (and loved) recently:

- Blood and Black Lace (Arrow)
- Audition (Arrow)
- Deep Red (Arrow)
- Cherry Falls (Scream Factory)
- Humanoids from the Deep (Scream Factory)
- Pumpkinhead (Scream Factory)
- Serpent and the Rainbow (Scream Factory)
- Vampire Lovers (Scream Factory)
- The Thing (Scream Factory)
- Willard (Scream Factory)
- The Crazies (70's version)

I'm one of those people who used to poo-poo having to have "the best quality" or any extras, but I am loving those things now. I enjoy watching a film and then watching some of the interviews and other extras on the disc. We watched The Vampire Lovers last night and the extras were great. They add a lot of context to a film.

I'm dismayed to see there are over 300 releases of Scream Factory alone. Could be a deep obsession!

Anyway, glad to find this thread so I can keep up on the latest. Thanks to the person who recently posted sale prices at Best Buy because I picked up 6 more SF releases today.

I also have some to trade if I ever get my post count up high enough to post on the trading forum. :-)

Nice list of favorites there, Humanoids From The Deep and Cherry Falls are two that I love and find to be very underrated

I've owned Cherry Falls for a couple of years now, but it's been languishing in my still-unwatched stack. I need to remedy that soon.

Cherry Falls is one of my favorite scream factory titles. I remember when it was on USA network and vhs'd it. Michael Biehn & Brittany Murphy are both great in that one.

If you like the "Scream clone" movies, this is def one of the better ones imo.

I certainly wouldn't be at all surprised if this was the case, given that the title has been out of Lionsgate's hands for some time now, and it being one of Jeff's dream titles.
I'd be curious to know where the rumor originally started. I wouldn't be that surprised that Scream Factory finally managed to secure a license to the film, but I've never seen any indication that Multicom has any rights to the film.

Not me. I can't remember any specific examples, but I seem to recall some of the movie clips they used in the past being a little too spoiler-y for initial viewings or when there had been significant lapses of time between viewings.

Phantasm II & They Live were very spoilery.

A lot of their menus had spoiler clips in them, which is fine for those that have seen a film but if it's your first time it's a little annoying. I made it a habit to immediately hit play when I got to the menu and then paused it until every one was ready to sit down and watch the film.

Yeah, I prefer their recent menus. For the many blind-buys I’ve purchased from Scream/Shout, when I’d pop the disc in, I would always have to close my eyes and press “OK” on my remote to play the movie as quickly as I could because the menus with movie footage playing as the background felt so spoilery, or at least spoiled the mood a bit.

I'm not a fan of clips playing during menus. It makes the menu look nicer I guess, but if you've never seen the movie it can ruin parts of it. The worst offender I can think of was the Blue Underground DVD of The Prowler showing every single death scene in a 5-second clip before the menu came up, kinda of ruined the fun of my first time viewing.

It seems like "Blu-rays don't include trailers often enough" and "Blu-ray menus show clips with too many spoilers" could easily have one common solution...

Still remember gasping at how one of the DVD menus for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon blatantly gives away the shot of
[Show spoiler]Zhang Ziyi jumping off the bridge at the end!
I'm just thankful I saw it for the first time theatrically, because that would have PISSED me OFF had I viewed it for the first time on DVD. When I showed the movie to my brother and his wife, I told them to keep their eyes shut until the movie proper started.
