I do but does Shout still have a deal with Fox? Time is running out on Fox titles. Once Disney gets their iron hands on them it'll all be DMC exclusives or fodder for their streaming services.

There's some legal issues holding up Warning Sign apparently. If not, I suspect Scream would have released it long ago (when they had dealings with Fox).

Pretty sure it was announced back in January. Really looking forward to seeing Crucible of Horror. Haven't seen it before, but I always enjoy horror movies with Michael Gough.

That would be great, it would go well with the Creepshow 2 LE Arrow released.

Yeah, I can see where it was officially announced. Either I saw it and didn't mark it down, or I just missed it entirely somehow. Cool, nonetheless.

The announcement of Gravity Falls: The Complete Series would appear to indicate that Shout have struck some kind of deal with Disney. Of course it might just be a one-off deal, or limited to animated shows, but it would be quite something if they could acquire Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Watcher in the Woods. There won't be much in the way of genre fare after the Kino deal (though we do know The Midnight Hour hasn't been licenced by them, so there are one or two others), but these two would be great gets if they can wrangle it. The terms of Kino's deal suggests Disney wouldn't be willing to licence out their own titles so to speak, but after securing a Warner deal perhaps we shouldn't rule out something extraordinary on Shout's part.

I saw some announcement that a deal was struck between Shout and ITV studios the other day. It would appear they have full distribution rights to that catalog as well (Movies and TV through all distribution channels Digital/tv/on disc)... including all of The Stepfather movies now. This has certainly been the month for acquisitions for Shout Factory. I'm curious where the capital for all of this suddenly came from. (Warner Deal, Corman Purchase, ITV deal, possibly Disney deal) I'd like to think it's due to the sale's of Scream Factory Blu Rays.

It makes sense on their part. When the steelbook double dips started, it became evident that they had tapped out the available titles from other studios, and when your business model relies on licensing titles already released--a scarcity model--you have to move on to other avenues of acquiring content.

Is there anything to suggest that Hen's Tooth have lost the rights to Company of Wolves, and that they could have reverted back to ITV? Other than that and the two Stepfather sequels I'm not sure what other horror titles could be part of the ITV deal, given that a number have already been released by Shout, Hen's Tooth and Scorpion.

The announcement made reference to re-mastering and releasing films on digital, dvd, and blu ray... some of which have never before had a release, so I'd say just about anything/everything could be a possibility regardless of whether it has seen a release before or not.

Anything to be released in September or October will almost certainly be announced earlier, so I expect to see some heavy hitters announced before then, and The Lost Boys is certainly a great candidate. I'm going to say earlier.

I had a look at the ITV Studios catalogue on Park Circus - there's some 900 productions on there, so obviously Shout won't have acquired all of them. In terms of horror titles not released on Blu-ray by Shout, Scorpion, Hen's Tooth and Synapse (and there is absolutely nothing to suggest these other 3 labels will lose their rights to these, though I think The Monster Club might be going OOP), I could only find these horror titles of interest:

Stepfather Trilogy
Doppelganger (1993)
The Shout
Terminal Choice
The Uncanny
(seems more like a title Scorpion might have already required, but who knows?)

They also have Ed and his Dead Mother and Nothing But the Night, titles previously released by Scorpion on DVD, so it's unclear if they still have the rights to these. I don't believe upgrades have been hinted.

Yeah to be honest, the announcement specifically cited The Stepfather films and so I feel like those have a decent shot at being pressed to disc and released as part of the Scream Factory line, but everything else in the press release and the little I know about the company makes me believe that this partnership will likely result in a lot more DVD releases (probably of past tv series') then it will films most of us would have an interest in.

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner but:

Going back to the WB deal, I want to see Shout! or Scream Factory release... THE WITCHES (1990). It'd fit in either releasing label!

The Lost Boys is a special film, one of my all-time favorites. Its current package from Warner is nothing to complain about, but a Scream Factory CE of the film would be reason to rejoice. Right there with you on that one...
