Wow. I don't remember the DVDs looking so hot. Like early 90s era Nick shows. Well, if they can clean the show up for HD, I'm in.

I did like Road Games (2015) and The Babadook (2014) but I agree that if SF could get a deal with some studios to do a first day of release CE of some new horror films that would be awesome. I would love a Scream Factory CE of The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) to go next to the first film on my shelf. The only boutique label that has been able to do this was criterion collection with The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)!

I don't think you guys remember that aside from a few episodes, like the Tobe Hooper pilot, the majority of "Freddy's Nightmares" really sucks.

Yeah just give us that 1st episode on Freddy’s origin and I’ll be happy.

I think they just dumped whatever existing masters they had onto the DVD with no cleanup. (Which I think is also what they did with '90's era Nick shows.)

Unfortunately the IFC titles and the double dips are their bread and butter. They are far and away their best sellers. (Source : Their guest appearances on Shockwaves / Killer POV)

I have still not been able to view the entire Nightmare on Elm Street remake. I've tried many times, but eventually get bored in the middle and shut it off. It bothers me because there was so much potential for this remake. With dreams a major point of the story, the creativity could've been off the charts. I think that's why I can't finish it--the disappointment of what could have been just breaks me down.

What do you believe is the most underrated Scream Factory title? I have to go with the Larry Fessenden box set. I love the respect and admiration they gave him with the set, which contains some incredible indie horror films and special features. As a pioneer of the independent horror community, Fessenden received the Blu-ray set his work deserved, and I hope SF continues to maintain a relationship with his productions.

Well, IMDB could be wrong but I figured I'd post the info until it can be confirmed otherwise. The main thing would be whether or not the show was edited on tape. Fingers crossed it wasn't so that a blu-ray release is possible.

Also, I agree with thatguamguy that the existing masters were more than likely just dumped onto dvd. It probably wasn't that big a deal 15 years ago but the dvd release is definitely showing its age now.

I understand some of these might not be for everybody, but they are all amazing, and looks like not many people own them:

Is Cry Wolf with Universal now? What's going on with that one? I think I've mentioned it before but don't remember. Seems like a great/unreleased candidate for SF. I remember liking it quite a bit but haven't seen it in probably 10-15yrs.

my favorite of the IFC releases have been Extraterrestrial, Devil's Candy, Autopsy of Jane Doe, and Beyond the Gates. I wish they would release more original content because I've enjoyed Fender Bender and Jackals.

Yes, I was assuming it was not edited on tape. Even if they couldn't do a Blu I'd be happy with a better DVD set.

"The Nest" is one of the most underrated for me. It's a great little movie imo that achieves everything it sets out to do. The commentary is a good one and the film has obviously never looked better.

Autopsy of Jane Doe was one of the best horror films I've seen in years.

I think Extraterrestrial was the only IFC film I kept when I got rid of a bunch of them last year

Of the IFC releases I'm a fan of:

-The Babadook
-Baskin (I've spoke about this one a lot over the years)
-Shelley (I still need to pick this one up)
-Beyond the Gates (I liked the concept more than the movie. Another I still want to pick up)
-The Autopsy of Jane Doe (Great film)
-Don't Knock Twice
-A Dark Song

I feel like the Bolded titles should be essential viewings for modern horror fans as any of these could easily have made it to the big screen (except for A Dark Song perhaps) and done reasonably well. A Dark Song is a great movie, but I don't know how it would have been received by mainstream audiences in the theater who expect more action/jump scares these days.

I've seen a few mentions of Alligator in the thread as a potential future release. Is that movie with a studio that is licensing titles to Scream Factory? I like it and would definitely buy it but believe that I read in some other post that a release may be less likely due to the rights-holder.
