I'd call Vampires: The Turning a sequel in name only with Sony trying to milk the last few drops from an old cow with none of the principal crew remaining. I picked up the DVD cheaply a few years back but can't say I'd bother getting a blu-ray of it.

Does sony own the rights to "When A Stranger Call Back"? The dvd of that is out of print so it'd be great to be able to get a copy of it.

I think it's going to be a great upcoming year for SF releases.

Yes Shout/Scream should do both films on BD! wouldn't that be cool?

Damn right and It's Alive Trilogy with The WB Carpenter films, Night of the Lepus, Curse of the Cat People, Tingler and Straight Jacket with Of Unknown Origin are just the icing on the cake.

Hoping for the movies i desire to see on BD even in CEs and all that from Sony, Warner and Universal.

For horror-fantasy films, does anyone here want The Company of Wolves in a CE with 4K or 2K remastering with extras galore and Snow White a Tale of Terror?

Not sure who currently holds the rights to The Company of Wolves, though I still have my Vestron Video Laserdisc from back in the day (if it's released through Lionsgate's Vestron line that'd be fine; they've been doing a great job with that series). Company is a terrific film, rich in imaginative production design, atmosphere and an overall sensual adult take on legend, myth and fairy tales. Along with Jordan's underrated vampire film Byzantium with Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan, I much prefer it to his better-known Interview with the Vampire (though that film has a similar visual richness).

Hen's Tooth may still have it, though it is an ITV title, so it's possible Scream might have acquired the rights in their recent deal.

Hen's tooth has expired on the rights, i believe and maybe it would be cool to have Scream do the BD. Maybe they might even announce it this summer at the comic con.

If you can get hold of a copy of the UK ITV BD, it's region free.

Thanks, I do know of that release. It's still available on Amazon and for slightly cheaper on AmazonUK. It was released back in 2009 and reviews find the VC-1 encoded transfer somewhat lacking (it's one of those titles where "at least it looks better than the DVD" is a common defense) and the audio is lossy. I'll likely hold out for something better, though I'd love to hear that Neil Jordan commentary it contains.

Does Sony still owns Texas Chainsaw Next Generation? I know I have a DVD of that film but it's from Lionsgate.

Maybe a release of Panic Room? As much as I’d prefer Criterion releasing it, I’m just thirsty for something.

I hope The Return of the Vampire is among the other 40's titles SF had mentioned they would release in the future.

I just picked that up on Friday in Big Lots for $3, in this collection. A BD release would be nice.
