Now this is far more complicated than other studios, given the relationships with Twilight Time and in particular Mill Creek. The announcements of The Tingler and Strait-Jacket at least confirms that some titles Mill Creek put out on DVD could be available to Scream. Their arrangement with Sony is obviously peculiar, as that Charles Bronson set confirms, so it could even be that Scream could get access to titles Mill Creek have released on Blu. Anyway, I'm going to separate this list accordingly. Obviously there will be titles I've missed, so just let me know and I'll add them. I expect this is particularly true of post-2000 titles, which seem to be mostly awful in any case.

Also, I'm aware that some of these already have region-free Indicator releases. We can discuss that and other concerns in subsequent posts, this is merely a list of titles.

To start with, titles without a US Blu-ray release (to my knowledge) which do not (yet) appear to have been licenced to Image, Mill Creek or Twilight Time:

[Show spoiler]
The Soul of a Monster

Zombies of Mora Tau
The Werewolf
Curse/Night of the Demon

Berserk!
The Mad Room

The Mind of Mr Soames
Fragment of Fear
A Reflection of Fear
See No Evil
The Mutations
(not sure if this is still with Sony)
Shadow of the Hawk
Obsession
Warlords of Atlantis
Eyes of Laura Mars
Ravagers

Runaway
The Bride
Cold Steel
The Stranger
Cameron's Closet
The Kiss
The Seventh Sign
Monster High
Hit List
(not sure if this is still with Sony)

Children of the Night
The Dark Backward
Past Midnight
Candyman
Brainscan
Hideaway
Mute Witness
The Fan
Screamers
Solo
8mm
Bats

Urban Legends: Final Cut
The Forsaken
The Glass House
The Mothman Prophecies
Spider
Vampires: Los Muertos
Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid
Dead Birds
The Forgotten
Boogeyman
The Dark
The Fog
Urban Legends: Bloody Mary
Vampires: The Turning
Devour
The Grudge 2
I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
The Marsh
Boogeyman 2
[REC]
Outpost
The Grudge 3
[REC]2
[REC]3: Genesis

Now, titles which have been licenced to Mill Creek for DVD, but have not yet been released by them on Blu-ray (I've omitted Hammer titles since it's likely they'll do any remaining ones):

[Show spoiler]
Return of the Vampire

The Black Room
The Man They Could Not Hang
The Man With Nine Lives
Before I Hang
The Devil Commands
The Boogie Man Will Get You

Five

Creature with the Atom Brain
The Giant Claw
The Man Who Turned to Stone
The Night The World Exploded

The 27th Day
The H-Man
(US version only - Sony previously released both cuts on DVD)
Valley of the Dragons
12 to the Moon

Battle in Outer Space (US version only - Sony previously released both cuts on DVD)

Mothra (US version only - Sony previously released both cuts on DVD)
The Old Dark House (Castle)

Nightwing

The New Kids
Out of the Dark
Relentless

The Breed
She Creature
The Cave
The Hunt for the BTK Killer
Black Water
Vinyan

Now, titles previously released on Blu by Sony, and not subsequently licenced out to Image or Mill Creek for Blu-ray (to my knowledge). I've left out Ghostbusters 1+2 and Bram Stoker's Dracula, since there is no way Scream could top existing releases:

[Show spoiler]
Earth vs. the Flying Saucers
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad
Jason and the Argonauts

Christine
Starman
Night of the Creeps
Wolf
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
The Craft
Urban Legend
Ghosts of Mars
976-Evil
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
Resident Evil
(+ sequels)
Underworld (+ sequels)
Starship Troopers
Godzilla
(98)
The Grudge
Silent Hill
Premonition
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Quarantine
Prom Night
(2008)
30 Days of Night
Insidious
Hellboy
Secret Window
So I Married An Axe Murderer

Millennium-era Godzilla series
Rebirth of Mothra I-III

Next, titles released by Twilight Time, now sold out:

[Show spoiler]
Fright Night
The Blob
John Carpenter's Vampires
Christine
Body Double
Night of the Living Dead
Enemy Mine
Mindwarp
First Men in the Moon
Mysterious Island

Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad

Titles licenced to Mill Creek for Blu-ray release. A few of these appear to be OOP (Original When a Stranger Calls, Happy Birthday to Me), and some were already released on Blu by Sony:

[Show spoiler]
20 Million Miles to Earth
It Came from Beneath the Sea
Krull
Pulse
Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone
Silent Rage
Torture Garden
The Creeping Flesh
Brotherhood of Satan
A Study in Terror
When a Stranger Calls (original)
When a Stranger Calls (remake)
Happy Birthday To Me
I Know What You Did Last Summer
The Messengers
Flatliners
Vacancy
Wind Chill
Hostel
Hostel Part 2
Hollow Man
Hollow Man 2
Anaconda
Anatomy
Anatomy 2
Identity

And finally (phew), titles licenced to Image for Blu. Again, Apt Pupil at least appears to be OOP:

[Show spoiler]
The Collector
The Deep
Sleepwalkers
Johnny Mnemonic
Apt Pupil
Idle Hands
Darkness Falls

Thanks for your extensive research on this; it's appreciated.

I gotta say, I wonder if Scream Factory actually has Brainscan. That would've seemed out of the question a year ago, but Scream is talking a big game right now, which means they have to have some heavily-requested, fan-approved titles up their sleeves. Brainscan would definitely fit the bill. Again, I'm calling out Brainscan, a Critters boxset, and Return of the Living Dead Part II as upcoming Scream titles.

Mick Garris has a podcast coming up where he's doing a Critters 2 Anniversary show. Looks like this is all coming together here...

Brainscan is an absolute no-brainer for Scream providing the rights are available. Wouldn't need to be a CE either.

Of the post-2000 stuff, I really can't say I'm interested in much, with the exception of Mothman Prophecies (a must surely?), Dead Birds, Black Water, and the first two [REC] films. They could potentially do CE's of Mothman and the [REC] films, though the latter might also suit a box set (do Sony have the rights to the fourth installment?).

I have a ton of foreign edition Blu-rays that I thought would never see the light of day on the U.S. side; Mothman Prophecies is one. I collect the Scream Factory CEs, so that'd be the only way I'd upgrade on Mothman. The Australian release looks good, and it's a strong film, holds up well.

Dead Birds--that would be a nice surprise.

Black Water and the REC films would also make interesting acquisitions/rediscoveries.

I'm not sure if Screen Gems (a Sony subsidiary) sub-licensed the US rights to the [REC] sequels to Magnolia Pictures or if Magnolia controls the US rights, outright.

Not sure if it means anything, but on Prime Video the studio is given as Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA).

Would they even have interest in the REC series? They haven't done much with foreign horror in the past, have they?

For the first film, which I believe is Sony across the board for all US media. The studio listed on Prime Video for each of the sequels is Magnolia Pictures.

This is true of course, though in fairness to Scream they don't often get access to notable foreign titles through their big studio deals (I believe more modern foreign films are released through the IFC deal at least). That said, we've seen more classic European horror in the line over the past year or so (especially of the Spanish variety interestingly enough), so perhaps they're willing to spread their wings a little. If zbinks is correct then it might just be that they have access to the first, which would mean that the commitment wouldn't be so great (though we'd no doubt see hordes of people on Facebook asking where the sequels are).

I certainly can't imagine it being a high priority given the potential titles Sony and WB deals grants them access to, though it might be something to consider further down the line.

It doesn't really seem like it would fit with the line, but with the discussion of [REC] I'd also throw out Martyrs (2008) as well. I feel like this film is a bit too brutal for the likes of Shout Factory but it's something that would likely do well for them. I'd likely double dip on a Shout Factory box set of the REC films despite already owning the first 3 in Region A friendly releases and 4 as Region B. I'd also love to see them (or Arrow for that matter) jump into some of the more extreme French horror films as well from past 2 decades. Inside, Martyrs, Irreversible etc.

With that said there are still numerous Warner Releases and other Sony releases from the late 70's through the mid 90's that I'd much, much rather see released first.

Martyrs was Cliff MacMillan's #1 foreign horror film, but US rights are still controlled by The Weinstein Company, if I'm not mistaken. I think the same is true for Inside (À l'intérieur), as well.

Irreversible is still with Lionsgate, I think.

I would love and welcome an bluray of Brainscan and ROTLD 2 but it all depends on if Scream can get a hold of the rights which at times can be a pain in the ass but you really never know anymore and you also have other companies too like Vestron Video and others.

If WB/Scream decide to do a 2-disc CE of IT (1990) i hope they include that new documentary on it and a new tribute to Harry Anderson featurette that honors his memory.

I believe they might have plans for CEs of the first two movies since they are quite loved and even a boxset with 3 and 4 included. I have a magic 8 ball and i'm betting they are gonna do it.

Would you love to see 2K scans of the first 2 films even deleted scenes, the TV version of Critters 2 with deleted scenes shown, commentaries, featurettes and all the goodies to please fans? Return i bet they are gonna do.

Yeah, don't think Irreversible fits the label either. I can see a Criterion release (and I think they'd do wonders in terms of extras).

Does anyone know the current status of TCM Next Generation? Is it still owned by Sony?

Point is, since that release the title has been licenced out to Mill Creek, which may or may not preclude Scream releasing it on Blu. Hopefully it doesn't, but it's possible Mill Creek might have got their first and have their own plans to release it on Blu.
