I gotta say, I wonder if Scream Factory actually has Brainscan. That would've seemed out of the question a year ago, but Scream is talking a big game right now, which means they have to have some heavily-requested, fan-approved titles up their sleeves. Brainscan would definitely fit the bill. Again, I'm calling out Brainscan, a Critters boxset, and Return of the Living Dead Part II as upcoming Scream titles.
Mick Garris has a podcast coming up where he's doing a Critters 2 Anniversary show. Looks like this is all coming together here... |

Brainscan is an absolute no-brainer for Scream providing the rights are available. Wouldn't need to be a CE either.
Of the post-2000 stuff, I really can't say I'm interested in much, with the exception of Mothman Prophecies (a must surely?), Dead Birds, Black Water, and the first two [REC] films. They could potentially do CE's of Mothman and the [REC] films, though the latter might also suit a box set (do Sony have the rights to the fourth installment?). |

I have a ton of foreign edition Blu-rays that I thought would never see the light of day on the U.S. side; Mothman Prophecies is one. I collect the Scream Factory CEs, so that'd be the only way I'd upgrade on Mothman. The Australian release looks good, and it's a strong film, holds up well.
Dead Birds--that would be a nice surprise. Black Water and the REC films would also make interesting acquisitions/rediscoveries. |

I'm not sure if Screen Gems (a Sony subsidiary) sub-licensed the US rights to the [●REC] sequels to Magnolia Pictures or if Magnolia controls the US rights, outright.

Not sure if it means anything, but on Prime Video the studio is given as Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA).

I certainly can't imagine it being a high priority given the potential titles Sony and WB deals grants them access to, though it might be something to consider further down the line. |

It doesn't really seem like it would fit with the line, but with the discussion of [REC] I'd also throw out Martyrs (2008) as well. I feel like this film is a bit too brutal for the likes of Shout Factory but it's something that would likely do well for them. I'd likely double dip on a Shout Factory box set of the REC films despite already owning the first 3 in Region A friendly releases and 4 as Region B. I'd also love to see them (or Arrow for that matter) jump into some of the more extreme French horror films as well from past 2 decades. Inside, Martyrs, Irreversible etc.
With that said there are still numerous Warner Releases and other Sony releases from the late 70's through the mid 90's that I'd much, much rather see released first. |

Martyrs was Cliff MacMillan's #1 foreign horror film, but US rights are still controlled by The Weinstein Company, if I'm not mistaken. I think the same is true for Inside (À l'intérieur), as well.
Irreversible is still with Lionsgate, I think. |

Point is, since that release the title has been licenced out to Mill Creek, which may or may not preclude Scream releasing it on Blu. Hopefully it doesn't, but it's possible Mill Creek might have got their first and have their own plans to release it on Blu.
