I believe that 8MM is a Sony film, so I'd hope to see it released by Twilight Time or Indicator.

Well now Scream has a deal with Sony besides WB and Universal.

But you think Twilight is better for it? it's always limited editions at Twilight and that's no fair.

Razorback is a Warner title in the US, so maybe through Scream Factory.

Next of Kin... who knows.

It's very possible that Umbrella's releases for these films will be Region Free.

I hope so. I first saw it back in the VHS days but hadn't seen it since. I caught it recently on TCM and it still impressed me. I had remembered that unique photography all these years and it really was a kick to see it again.

I wonder how this new Sony deal is going to affect Twilight Time. Personally, I prefer Shout. Easier access, and for the most part no limited run nonsense. Typically here in Canada I can get far better pricing on Shout as well (not sure about elsewhere). Also makes you wonder what Shout might release once Twilight loses their rights. Fright Night, John Carpenter's Vampires, etc.

While I don't think Scream will be interested in Mindwarp (which took an age to sell out), I very much think they'll seek to acquire these sold-out TT titles:

Fright Night (2nd edition was issued in Jan 2015, so additional 3-year window has passed)
The Blob (three-year window has passed)
John Carpenter's Vampires (three-year window coming up in October, so could be one for later in the year or 2019)
Night of the Living Dead (three-year window long passed)

I'm on the fence about Christine, for the simple reason that it has since had a general release - that said, it is Carpenter, and perhaps Scream feel they can add a few worthwhile extras (or do a new 4K scan, I think the last was 2K). Not sure about Body Double either - it had a Sony Choice release in late 2016 which obviously people aren't keen on, but will Scream take that into account?

Another interesting question is what titles TT might have acquired ahead of Scream. While they said a while back that they don't plan to release any more horror titles, plans do change. Moreover, there are some titles which, while not considered strictly horror, certainly border on Scream territory - 8mm, Obsession, Warlords of Atlantis, The Mind of Mr Soames, Reflection of Fear, Runaway, The Fan, The New Kids being just some examples.

I picked it up in a Target for $10.76 while searching for clearance LPs. I also found Arrow's release of The Bird with the Crystal Plumage for $12.36. Both are online returns. An awesome deal on the latter. Thanks for any input.
I did not care for the film as much as everyone else apparently did.

The Fan and 8MM are thrillers and you gotta remember Scream isn't just horror but thriller, suspense and sci-fi.

Good thing The Blob and Fright Night and Night of the Living Dead's rights expired from Twilight Time.

Night could sure use a new 2K scan plus extras abound even deleted scenes as extras as i saw the BD from a friend of mine who bought Night 1990 and the transfer was bad.

You misunderstand. I was very much suggesting that those kinds of titles are Scream fodder - my point was that they are also titles which might be of interest to Twilight Time, who have longer standing ties to Sony and might have already secured them.

Maybe I missed something but are we certain the SF has a deal with Sony? Is it because the Piranha II release?

No it's because of Scream's announcements of The Tingler and Strait-Jacket.

Thanks! This is fantastic news. It, along with Eyes Of Fire, is a film I've been yearning to see for years now. Can't wait for it.

Generally, I don't think that Twilight Time releases the titles that Scream would want, and vice versa. I don't think that Scream would be interested in GIDGET or GENGHIS KHAN, to name two.

I hope one of them releases 8MM. I still expect it from TT, since they did release HARDCORE.
