That's what i'm betting on! it would sell like hotcakes for the company and fans can retire their old DVDs.

For how much they re-issue titles that are still in print they should actually try re-issuing some of their out-of-print titles, like say the first Vincent Price set..

It's incredibly annoying that people are asking for stuff like "The Shining" to be re-issued under the Scream Factory banner. It's got a good enough release as it is, there's 50 other films that need a blu-ray release more. Some of you guys are simply obsessed with getting that slipcover and new cover art.

I'm hoping for a Shout select release of Starman. It's crazy that none of the blu releases of it contain the Carpenter & Bridges commentary.

I hope all these wish list titles everyone keeps listing get released by their respective studios and no new artwork is commissioned and they don't come with slipcovers.. because some men just want to watch the world burn.

As long as these titles get released, I will be a happy man.

but everyone thought carrie was going to be a criterion, since its a huge movie like the shining, and they released it instead o.o you never know
Yeah but The Shining is in whole other ballpark compared to Carrie. Carrie is a good horror movie but The Shining transcends the genre of Horror and is in the category of just legendary films.

Carrie is in the same boat as Misery. The Shining, The Exorcist, Psycho or any of the other greats won't be on Scream Factory. They're just too critically acclaimed.

And I'm all for titles that haven't been released on blu-ray yet making it to the format. Maybe I'm just feeling fatigue from purchasing some of these titles since their initial VHS release, but I see people asking for titles to be re-issued just so they can have it released by Scream Factory specifically. It almost drives me insane to see the lack of rational behind some of these choices, the only reason I can see people asking for such titles is because they want the stupid slipcover with new cover art.

It's annoying to me because I am just as passionate and as a collector people like Shout!/Scream Factory do have us by the balls when they re-issue things that don't necessarily need it but they know we will all be tempted by the new coat of paint they give some of these old cars, to put it one way. Things like "The Shining" absolutely do not need a Scream Factory release nor do I think they could even do it justice compared to WB if they re-issue it on 4k. I was even tempted not to buy the new "Killer Klowns.." but I just had to, but also swearing this is the last time considering I had the VHS, the MGM DVD, the MGM blu-ray, the first Arrow blu-ray release and now the new Arrow release. I could pay off my damn car if I had the money I spent on re-issues of titles I already had over the years.

Believe me acclaim has nothing to do with it. It's the studio that owns it and all the other studios (Criterion, Arrow, ect.) that would pay more to get it than Shout! Factory would. And "Carrie" was released by Criterion before just so you know.

You don't think Criterion released "Armageddon" and "The Rock" because those were good, critically acclaimed films, do you?

It would also be cool if they reissued Happy Birthday to Me and When A Stranger Calls. I own Mill Creek’s (possibly OOP?) double feature, and the PQ/AQ is nice for both (apparently through restorations from Sony themselves), but I would double dip for some bonus features.

There’s also non-horror titles that Shout! could grab, including more ex-TT titles like Sleepless in Seattle and Philadelphia getting the Shout! Select treatment (hey, they released Fargo...).

I don’t know why it took so long for Shout! to get movie licenses from Sony. They’ve been getting TV shows from them for a long time (The Nanny, Maude, All in the Family, etc). Unless Sony Pictures Television really is pretty much separate.

"Happy Birthday to Me" was released region-free by Indicator in the UK. It's probably the best release that movie will ever see. It has an audio commentary, 24-page booklet and the original mono audio as well as the alternative score used on the 2004 home video release.

They only made 5,000 copies so grab it up while it's cheap and still in print.

New art and slipcovers aren't a requirement for me. They're nice when they happen but their absence wouldn't prevent me from buying something I want. So my world would be just fine.

I could see 1 and 2 getting released as collectors editions with 3/4 being released as a double feature like Scanners 2/3 and Species 3/4.

4K releases are going for around the same price as these "niche horror" releases.
They also generally include a digital copy (bc Sony)
