I like your optimism but Kino putting out MBV or AFD is.a long shot. For starters, I think anything that has had a DVD release previously is off limits (or am I confusing details of Kino's deal with Disney?). Pin may see a Blu-ray release but probably only in the UK. Arrow's last two Lakeshore titles were region B locked.

Arrow USA has Lakeshore stuff and i'm sure both UK/US Arrow will do Pin this year.

Kino has a paramount deal, remember?

Pick up the region free Indicator/Powerhouse releases of these. Even if the limited edition versions with the booklets (which are great) are OOP, the standard disc release is the same disc as the limited edition:

Kino said they can only release Paramount titles that have never had a DVD release, which tremendously limits what Paramount stuff they can release.

Oh never mind then, guess no blu-ray of April Fools Day from them.

Maybe Kino might do The Keep.

They said that they were going to recently but something they couldn't talk about stopped them from doing it.

are you 100% certain that SHIVERS and OBSESSION are region free? According to Amazon UK as well as this site, they aren't.

Does Scream Factory still have rights to Universal titles?

Music rights. They’ve been under dispute for over 30 years.

And there’s the factor of Mann himself doesn’t want it released.

Shivers was released initially as a Region B locked disc but had problems in much the same way that Army of Darkness, Child's Play, and others had issues in the US for Scream Factory. A replacement program was put into place and the resulting second pressing/replacement discs was confirmed as Region Free by everyone that purchased it. In theory purchasing it now should get you a region free disc, however since the release was initially locked, it's hard to say with 100% certainty whether they have continued to press region free discs with each subsequent pressing.

Amazon is not a reliable source for region coding.

I believe so and they might announce more Universal titles this month or next month or in July

.....and that's too risky for me. Thanks for the info, I'll wait for an inevitable US release.

Highly doubt they are gonna have Exorcist since the BD is already has a fantastic restoration and extras galore and is big with Warner.

But Poltergeist can use a CE with extras even a commentary by a Poltergeist historian even interviews with the stars on a featurette with history and all plus 2K remastering.

The other WB titles i can see along with MGM, Universal and Sony and Corman.

I ordered SHIVERS the other day, so I'll confirm when it arrives. I have the first printing of OBSESSION, with the screenplay, and it is region free and I assume the current release is the same disc.
