THE DUELLISTS looks gorgeous. Still remains one of Ridley Scott's best films (ie the first three) but it could have been overlooked on Blu, despite being one of the most beautifully shot films ever made. So thanks for that, cmac; congrats to all concerned. And it was a very nice touch to have a reversible sleeve with the original artwork - more of that, where possible please.
![]() EDIT: Much as I don't want to be one of those people that bombards you with requests, is the brilliant PARENTS on your radar? I worry that this great film has slipped into obscurity. |

VCI Im sure has Blood and Black Lace on their Blu Ray Radar
I read some forums about TGG's Pit & the Pendulum , saying the transfer was anamorphic as opposed to what MGM's Midnite Movie's edition is, although the MGM one has the commnetary Im looking at upgrading the non anamorphic transfers to my movies if I can. Some releases of the same film are all non anamorphic which blows ![]() |

Have VCI confirmed whether they're using the Storaro hackjob, as with the Arrow disc? If so, then don't bother.

Seriously, if you're considering doing this, let a brother know what it takes ![]() I lack the money for these releases right now, and, even if i had it, i'm not sure i could convince the wife that these were worthwhile expenditures (she's not exactly a horror nut). I, however, who has been following practically Scream Factory's every move and, thus far, only possess Halloweens II and III as well as Terror Train from them, would jump at the chance to enter any contest that would warrant some of their fine products on blu ray. |

WOW! I usually hate that cheesy cartooni-sh Arrow Artwork but that looks great. What better excuse for Shout! to tackle it now, you know, to match up Arrow! ![]() We can't have the UK guys thinking they're better than us, or luckier. Lol |

It is a great cover, if not a little spoiler-ish, although I hate how all the women on their covers look like women from 90s comics with their huge boobs and skimpy clothing. In the scene depicted the woman is actually is wearing a turtleneck sweater and a jacket. I know these are ridiculously picky things to complain about, but Arrow seem to do it all the time on their covers, it gets old after a while. Then again, they used to do that with old posters as well so... I guess sex sells but I still prefer most of Scream's covers over Arrows.

I seriously would kill to have this on Blu-Ray. I just wish that we could get from Scream before mgm or a second rate company puts it out. Its meshes well. Its dark and a really great movie. I love when he uses the rotten pig head as a mask, and they plant the people in the ground. Its crazy! ![]() I'm not too crazy about that art though, but it looks way better than the crappy 3-pack dvd art, which was just the words "motel hell". I still LOVE the movie though. |

I completely agree. How was this even overlooked? The Arrow Video version is just Region B, so we definitely need one for the North American fans.

But I would prefer Scream Factory, as they are more suited to the genre and have a better attention to detail. It would sell better through them too, all of the fans know about their releases! So it would just be a better fit with Shout! ![]() |

From Arrow's FB page: ![]() “It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent fritters!” cackle the brother-and-sister team behind the finest smoked meats in the county. They also run the friendly Motel Hello (the ‘o’ in the neon sign sometimes goes on the blink), and no matter how many times you’ve seen Psycho or The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, you can be sure that everything will be perfectly above board here as Vincent’s brother Bruce is the local sheriff. Western veteran Rory Calhoun gives a lipsmackingly demented performance as Farmer Vincent, whose twinkling bonhomie conceals a deeply depraved secret. Directed by Kevin Connor (maker of much-loved British genre classics The Land That Time Forgot and Warlords of Atlantis) and with legendary DJ Wolfman Jack as a fire-and-brimstone TV preacher, this is a gleefully twisted horror-comedy that climaxes with a showstopping chainsaw duel. Special Features: - High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) and Standard Definition DVD presentation of the film - Optional English SDH subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing - Audio commentary with director Kevin Connor moderated by Calum Waddell - Another Head on the Chopping Block: Interview with star Paul Linke - From Glamour to Gore: Interview with co-star, and former Playboy Playmate, Rosanne Katon - Ida, Be Thy Name: A look back at Motel Hell’s frightful female protagonist Ida Smith – and the secrets of creating a convincing slasher siren, with Scream Queens Elissa Dowling and Chantelle Albers, genre commentator Staci Layne Wilson and critic Shelagh Rowan-Legg - Back to the Backwoods: Director Dave Parker (The Hills Run Red) speaks about the importance of Motel Hell - Original Trailer - Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Jeff Zornow - Collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by Kim Newman, illustrated with original archive stills and posters Region B/2 I'm hoping Shout! can get ahold of this and some of these great extras... ! ![]() Last edited by jeepersitsthecreeper; 01-23-2013 at 05:19 PM. |
