Key words bolded. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Interesting that Sony is still releasing Strait-Jacket through Mill Creek in August.

Edit : And it gets release like 2 weeks prior. Hope it doesn't cannibalize Screams sales

I'm only sorry that you wasted your time with this paragraph since you clearly didn't read the rest of my post... btw, I have the UK Eureka edition of Fright Night, not the German one. I have all the titles that the fella mentioned. My comment wasn't for my own account, but for others who may not have lucked out before.

Nice try, you edited it after the fact with the final part. I was correct in what I had typed in response. You whined about the 3000k release which made no sense. Get a life.

Why all the negativity?
One cant simply order (The Blob, Fright Night, NotLD90) in region A at reasonable retail prices. Just because you don't need it or want it doesn't make it a bad release.

I don't give a shit if anyone buys it...what all of a sudden it's not ok to voice a personal opinion. I never said no one could buy it. I'm glad you think I have so much clout. lol. I'm done...Scream butt kissers enjoy!

Can someone (who doesn't currently own it) simply go on any retailer site and buy it at MSRP or lower?

I am all for availability.

Are people salty because their Fright Night is not so limited now?

lol we keep going at it BECAUSE you are misinformed. Both attempts at releasing Fright Night from TT ended up selling out before release day due to pre-order. THAT happened. Of course i knew about the second release they did, but there was no point in clarifying that since it really made no difference. I'm not changing my story, you just assumed I was speaking on my own behalf, when I was infact responding on demonknights... Not my problem.

That better mean they have Fright Night 2 finally because I don't see why they would bother with the first without it.

There is already a great edition of "Creepshow" out from Second Sight that has two commentaries and the making of/behind the scenes on it as well. Aside from the Twilight Time "Fright Night" disc, Eureka put out a region-free blu-ray that is literally stacked to the gills with bonus features.

Demonknights is smart enough to know I wasnt attacking him, if you really read it. He actually has reading comprehension.

actually there's probably some validity with that comment.
Some people collect paintings, some baseball cards, some coins, etc.
Specialty blu rays such as limited editions, steelbooks, etc are pinnacles of blu ray collections for many.

In many cases people pay a higher price to have "something special" in their collection that not everybody has...

I don't see anything wrong with that.

As far as the arguments above I have mixed feelings on it.
1-- I really get irritated when I hear people whine about out of print releases
when they've had ample time to purchase them (Vincent Price Collection comes to mind)
2-- however in the case of blink or you'll miss them releases such as Fright Night (both times) and The Blob--- the concern is real. I remember being at my computer the second that the reissue release of Fright Night came out-- the website was freezing and hour glass symbols abounded as countless people were trying to buy it. I believe it was sold out within 2 hours? It is not fair to criticize those that didn't get that release...

my 2 cents

It was, you could only order thru screenarchives website. It was quite amazing. I marked my calender on the day the pre-orders began, and did best I could to snag a copy but life intervenes and poof, all 5,000 taken up before the day was thru. It happens.

And no you can't get the blob or fright night at a store, not in the U.S. anyway... and they're American films go figure.

I never said you attacked him. My response was simply pointing out that The Blob and Fright Night are currently not available in the U.S.., and also when they were it was highly difficult to attain them due to limited quantities resulting in selling out swiftly. So his choices of titles were understandable.... that is ALL I was getting at from the start.

As a company, Scream likely sees these titles as "money left on the table"
There's still a demand for them and people ill buy them.
Cant fault them for that.
And all the better if they include more features or rescan.
