It was a little pricey for me but worth it because I'm a Carpenter nut and Vampires is a personal favorite. I'm satisfied with the TT Blu-ray but if Scream ever does a release I'll probably double dip just because.

I believe the Fright Time re-release of 5,000 also sold old during pre-orders or very shortly after going up. I know I missed it both times, but later got it on Ebay with a discount I got for being a good seller or something.

We all know that about having the documentary on BD but what i envision for a CE of the movie is just a 2K or 4K scan with commentaries, a new featurette about the impact of how this movie influenced many artists/comic makers (when we have a documentary already on BD), a Romero tribute featurette about his history, deleted scenes, tv spots, radio spots, trailers and poster and still gallery.

How about that?

There is a region-free edition of "Vampires" released by Indicator with a great booklet and commentary, essentially all the same as the Twilight Time edition. Really does not need another release. The "Night of the Living Dead" remake does not need to be revisited either unless Shout!/Scream is releasing it with a significantly better transfer.

These "leaks" all sound similar to the various wishlists people have posted in the months leading up to Comic-Con for years. I'll be surprised if even one of them are announced at Comic con, and down right shocked if 2 or more of the guesses are correct. I'd be down for most all of them, and I do think they could be a possibility in the long run, but I do not believe that these will be Comic Con announcements.

Since we're taking wild swings in the dark though...

5+ new steelbook re-releases announced.

Child's Play 2 + 3 Collectors editions to coincide with some sort of tv show announcement between late 2018 and late 2019.

A Nightmare on ElmStreet Box set coming in September.

Twilight Zone the movie Collectors edition coming in 2019.

Why!? The blu-ray set is still on the market and there really isn't anything wrong with it. This is so stupid and would be a huge waste of time/money..

And yet it would likely sell out in the same fashion that the Halloween Box set did without any problem. Sometimes you need to release the easy money makers in order to keep cranking out the forgotten turds so many clamor for.

Considering the controversy behind Twilight Zone: The Movie's production, I doubt many involved would want to talk about it.

I will also add that the beautiful thing about Scream Factory is that they crank these releases out and don't appear to be resistant to releasing much of anything. If they can get their hands on it, it seems probable that we'l see it from them at some point. A Freddy Set would make big waves at Comic Con as he's pop culture friendly and well known. That's a smart and easy announcement to make if they in fact had access to the films.

Right now I'm just hoping for Sorority House Massacre II and Hard to Die by this time next year.

Twilight Zone the Movie CE with a commentary by a Twilight Zone historian plus featurettes, deleted scenes, interviews, tv spots, trailers, poster and still gallery and 4K or 2K scan would be nice.

Elm Street set would be fantastic with new extras and 2K or 4K restorations.

We also need the TV show of Elm Street on DVD.

Child's Play 2 and 3 CE would be the bomb.

A DVD release of Freddy's Nightmares would also make for a fitting announcement in place of a movie box set at comic con. I could see that being announced instead as well.

Once again who would want that? If you think you want it, yes the pilot is good, but as for the rest of it? Incredibly bad. You might want to re-consider and re-visit it, before investing any money on something like a sole DVD set of that show.

Me too. I sold my Hard to Die VHS and I am selling my Sorority House Massacre II DV in blind faith.

have to agree with this one--- the show was flat out awful-- I remember watching it with my roommate back in the day and we'd look at each other and say "what are they doing?" Nothing worked.

It's not about what I want it's about what I think is possible as announcements. I already stated that Sorority House Massacre and Hard 2 Die are some of my top wants. I have no love for Freddy's nightmares myself, but there are folks that do, and that is the kind of announcement that would be right at home at Comic Con.

What releases are you hoping for? You seem to have a problem with Freddy himself as my mention of a new movie Box set set you off, and a never before released DVD set of the tv show Freddy's Nightmares also got you going, yet my comment regarding 5+ re-releases in steelbook form didn't seem to cause much problem at all.

Scream Factory as a distributor are not Vestron... they don't piddle around and only release 3-4 films per year. They crank these things out as fast as they can produce them so while I'm not always thrilled with re-releases or the titles being chosen for release, I know I only need to wait one month for a whole new slate of titles. I really am struggling to see why an all encompassing NOES box set or a release of Freddy's Nightmares would be seen as anything but a huge win for fans and Scream Factory.

Do you think Friday The 13th the series was better?

I actually enjoy the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series, what I don't enjoy as a collector, who is tempted by all these re-issues, is having to deal with all these damn re-releases that I am tempted to purchase, I actually like holding onto money every now and then.

I think re-issuing all their movies as steelbooks is also stupid. I won't ever buy them. The last Scream Factory title I purchased is "Hell Night." I know my opinion is just that, mine. I think the 24/7 speculation here is stupid, everyone just wants to feel some gratification in being able to say "I told you so" or "called that." Said it like 5 times before, but I think a lot you just want to see anything re-released, because a lot of you get off on a new slipcover and artwork, artificial stuff really..

They both sucked. You don't have to like one or the other, this isn't some kind of stupid feud.

I'm probably walking into a trap but.............yes! I loved that show and enjoyed almost every episode. It reminded me a bit of Kolchak The Night Stalker with it's "monster of the week" theme.

Freddy's Nightmares was almost incoherent.. the people that made it were either completely incompetent, on drugs, or both....
