Doesn't mean they have the rights to every Vista film or the clearance to release them Do Vista even have the rights to FNII? That'd explain why it was pulled from Amazon HD as soon as quick as it went up

Only if it's a 2k or 4k scan with commentaries, featurettes, makings-of, trailers, still galleries, tv spots, etc.

They don't have access to StudioCanal titles. Lionsgate does, but it seems even they may be at the mercy of StudioCanal's needs, wants and whims when it comes to actually releasing any of their films.

We really need to start a FNII drinking game in this thread.

While I do tend to think FNII's home video rights belong to Vista or to the estate of Herb Jaffe (FN / FNII producer and Vista partner/cofounder), I seem to recall Scream Factory responding to a FNII inquiry shortly after the Dudes announcement, wherein they mentioned that there were still outstanding clearance issues or something to that effect. It might have been a case of them playing coy, but I think they probably would've had it slated that for an October 2017 release, had there not been any issues preventing them from releasing it.

I posted it before but I will do it again. On AFI's site Vista Organization at the bottom FN2. I doubt AFI would be wrong.

It lists Vista as the production company, yes, which isn't wrong, but does that mean they still own the film?

you buy my theory they are saving FN movies for comic con or for october? and look at filmaf, it says Vista does own the second movie.

A quick internet search will tell you Vista released the film/distributed it here in the US, that's nothing new. And no, filmaf does NOT say Vista owns it, that's isn't how filmaf works. It lists them as the publisher, which has been there for years, not the current rights holder. It doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. If it were that simple, we would have had answers a long time ago and possibly a blu-ray release by now. Other companies would have jumped at the opportunity to release it, so it still seems to remain a mystery, but hey..who knows

Shout Select posted a new cover photo yesterday, with a 'mystery title' slotted for October 9. I asked them if it was Surviving the Game, and they responded with a surprised face emoji; interpret that as you will. They also said, "we have even more October releases that aren't even hinted at in the photo. And a lot of November...and December...and January...Feb...I think you get the point " You get the picture, but I thought it was an interesting response. They've got some big titles in the works, and they haven't even really started yet.

Besides "Dudes", have any of the films on that list been released on DVD previously? If not, then that pretty much means they're all controlled (owned?) by the same entity. Since Shout has acquired "Dudes" I'm inclined to think they may have access to more than just one film from that entity. Contracts typically include package deals. I'd also like to see Nightflyers hit Blu.

I’m surprised anyone has any confidence that Vestron is going to release anything at this point.

But even if they’re going to plateau out on the release schedule and average 3-4 releases a year… Fear No Evil?
