Maybe next week or early next july they will announce Alone for a Halloween release date or maybe at the comic con.

Alien Predators makes a nice companion piece to Bob Clark's Without Warning IMO.

I really hope the Nightmare set is announced soon. The obvious being in that I'd like to own a better more definitive set, but the other reason being that I can finally stop speculating that it's coming and can change some of my budgeting plans. I've got a substantial build-up of Amazon gift cards at the moment that I'd love to apply to some of these other Scream Factory releases, however since I expect any potential Nightmare set to cost around $200 I'm holding off on using them until I know for sure that a Nightmare set isn't coming any time soon.

You got me there. I tend to limit my discussions of home video to Region A circles, though, since I'm limited to that region, as are many others here. Thanks for bringing the UK disc to our attention, though!

I just got my copy of Ninja III and the slip wasn't shrink-wrapped to the case. When did Shout stop shrink-wrapping their slips to the case?

Perhaps there was a manufacturing snafu with that release as all Slips should still be shrink wrapped. It's hard to imagine them reversing this policy back to what it was before.

A Nightmare set would throw my budget into a tailspin, but I'd find a way to order it immediately. I like purchasing the CE's directly from Scream, and have been ordering the new ones one or two at a time when I've had extra cash. Got a few of the other horror titles for August from them locked in, as well. I've also got two Kino releases on preorder (Deep Rising and Color of Night), both Vestron titles, the Changeling, the Unnamable, No Escape, and God knows what else. This has to be the biggest year for me so far on preorders.

Not sure about the Nightmare set, but you can bet on the Critters one, which will probably cost around $50, depending what's in it.

I think if (when?) the Critters set is announced it could very likely look identical to what is being done with the [REC] release. Same price point, same overall design. To be honest I would have been fine with a cheap warner 4 film favorites set for Critters so I'm hoping that the Critters set doesn't go for above $50.

I guess it all depends if they include 3 and 4. My connection said 1 and 2 were coming, but did not have information on the others. As a collector and completest I'd like to have the whole series, obviously; but who knows, maybe they'll do 1 and 2 in a double feature, not even in branded CEs, like the future Sorority House/Hard to Die set. It seems unlikely, but you never know. They have released a lot of films that seemed like perfect CE candidates that turned out not to be--Brainscan, Nomads, the Dark Half, Legend of Hell House, Leviathan--so it remains to be seen. But if I had to guess, I'd agree and say it will be a four film set similar to REC and It's Alive.

Like we've previously discussed, I also think it's safe to (make an)ass(out of)u(and)me and say that a new A Nightmare on Elm Street boxset is not in the works at this time. It's too big; we'd know by now. Someone (Englund, Langenkamp) would've leaked vital info at a con, on Twitter, etc...

My thought is that if Scream Factory has the license to the films they could be well underway with scanning elements and preparing the presentations of the main features, but not yet reached out to anyone for the special features. If the set wasn't planned for this year, but rather was announced at Comic Con (or possibly even just saved for a big Fall announcement) as a Winter/Spring/Summer 2019 title then it's reasonable to assume Englund, Langenkamp, etc may not have been asked yet for their participation.

In a perfect world this set will encompass 9 films as well as the Never Sleep Again Documentary, and unlike the Halloween set if Scream Factory is allowed to create new scans for every film as well as alternate versions, (tv cuts), new special features, etc, then it's reasonable to assume that this release would take quite a bit longer to produce.

On the other hand, a recurring argument has been... "What more can be produced as far as special features go?" With that in mind, maybe they won't reach out to anyone for any new commentaries or special features and will instead focus on getting the prints scanned again, getting original audio options, and restoring as many of the censored bits as possible (while likely adding Horror's Hallowed Grounds features) to the already jam packed full amount of special features available for these films.

I'd love this, but it'd be costly, and it'd be their biggest project yet, maybe their biggest project ever, surpassing Nightbreed, the Halloween set, everything. Like you said, there's a number of different ways they could do it. You could very well be right. All we can say right now is that ComicCon announcements will be groundbreaking; of that, I'm sure.

Since they would be working with Warner, I would love to see Warner provide 4K discs that could be included in the set. But I imagine there is next to no chance of that happening.

It's worth noting that November 2019 is the 35th anniversary for the original NoES. If there is a set in the works, I'd venture a guess that it's over a year away from being released.

Yeah I think next Sep/Oct is a more realistic timetable. Have Critters be the box set this year (I realize it isn't quite comparable) and NOES next year. As I said before, I'd rather they take the extra time to get it right, I'm sure they'll have enough to tide us all over until then, there's no rush.

Critters boxset would be a best seller no doubt and fans of the first 2 like me want it badly.

I predict Critters will be in October and so will Jason Goes to Hell CE.

And who thinks if they announced End of Days CE at the comic con it might be for a december release considering the film is set on Christmas/New Years?

July has a Friday the 13th in it, and they rarely let a Friday the 13th go by without an announcement. Even though they would have already announced the October titles, and Comic-Con would be the following week, that Friday would be a perfect time to announce Jason Goes to Hell and maybe even Jason X.

Yes i believe they will announce those on Friday The 13th as a surprise considering it, i can see that.

And you buy my theory they might do End of Days Collector's Edition for november or december for the holidays considering it's a holiday film along with Gremlins 1 & 2 CEs?

End of Days in December would make perfect sense, along with the Gremlins movies. They usually save the holiday themed films for December.
