I'm just hoping these reveals are as jaw-dropping as "The Man In the Iron Mask", and not just some sort of empty hype.

Which, I guess, means that's 5 new titles on top of the titles they'll reveal during their panel later in the convention.
When is the convention supposed to be?

Yeah going on past form I get the impression these badges will be the five October releases (5 titles makes sense given they'll probably reveal them all by next Friday), and SDCC are a little confused on the issue.

It's a title I hope is released before Fox Home Video is swallowed up into Buena Vista.

Take a look at past ones:

[Show spoiler]

A couple of titles (The Sentinel, The Legacy) aside, they're all CE's or box sets.

I'm willing to be a fair amount of money that at least one of the buttons will be for one of these announced titles.

-Brainscan
-Return of the Living Dead II
-Piranha 2

Comic-con is the 3rd week of July usually. The first time they did the buttons they spoiled some of the early announcements. Tales from the Crypt Demon Knight and/or Bordello of Blood were amongst them. That year the announcements before the convention were much more exciting than what was announced at the convention.

Personally I wish they went back to the coasters. I've never been a big fan of the buttons but always really liked the magnets and coasters offered during past sales.

Indeed. I'm hoping for at least something on par with that classic. I just hope it's already had a blu ray out for 6 or 7 years when they announce it.

Who thought that was a good idea? Seems like one of those decisions made because someone higher up likes the film and the rest of the staff are too scared to break the news to him or her.

EDIT: I really did have hope it was Pump Up the Volume. Alas...

Maybe it's the good Nightmare on Elm Streets (1,3,4,5, & 7) with the best bits of 2 as a bonus feature and no mention of 6 or the remake.

Army of Darkness too. The button picture leaked on June 15, 2015, and then SF announced AOD and Demon Knight/Bordello of Blood the same day. Every title on a button that year was announced before comic con. I don’t know if that’s been the case other years as well.

I just wish they would say what the exact days are for announcing so all the guessing(October titles and beyond) stops. I have a feeling this may be disappointing for some short term. We may in fact get some of these titles mentioned in these threads but some they just might not have or they are like a year away from releasing. This latest Select title is a perfect example of over hype with the guessing bit.

I just looked back in this thread, and it looks like the first October announcement for last year, The Poughkeepsie Tapes, was announced on July 5th.

So we might have another week to wait.....

Most likely but... last year the 4th was a Tuesday which gave them only the 3rd or 5th to start announcing.. this year they have the 2 and the 3 of july.. also since September was soo surprisingly big.. I really dont think they'd cut us short for October, which is supposedly they're biggest month.. I think we will get at least three collector's editions and 1 or two minor ones.. and call it a day...

But I'm still hoping for an announcement tomorrow to get my blood flowing lol
