To be fair this is probably the least notable October title Scream have announced down the years. And with the Warner/Sony deals it seems reasonable to raise expectations this time round.

As someone with little interest in most of the Corman titles I'm dreading the prospect that they might heavily populate the SDCC announcements...

I'm mostly surprised that it's a standalone release, as Shout! Factory should have access to several early Corman films, either through MGM or through it's acquisition of Corman's back catalog.

The Wasp Woman is one of those films that almost every PD label has released in some form or another. It'll probably be a revelation if this is being sourced from the OCN. I wonder if a definitive Little Shop of Horrors (1960) is in the works.

Yeah, I'm not trying to piss anyone off; if people are happy with Wasp Woman, that's great; I'm happy they got something they wanted. But with all the anticipation, and the Warner and Sony deals as well as the Corman library available, they drop a turd like this? Sorry, fellas. They're just goofing around. I'm sure they'll be one or two good ones announced over the next couple days, but why they used Wasp Woman as the first October announcement makes little sense to me. No, I don't work there or know what their strategy is, but keep in mind they've been bragging about "mind-blowing" titles.

Why is everyone always so negative?
If you let yourself get hyped up to unrealistic expectations then that’s on you.

Well, this is a discussion forum, and when you have a discussion, not everyone will feel the same way about every topic or subject, which inspires discourse, which is what a forum is all about. That's why.

I guess we expected this at some point. Coming 9th October:

With 2 announcements today I'm optimistic we might see 6-7 titles, even with the holiday next week. Should be time to announce another 4-5 by next Friday.

Wasp Woman feels like it should have been a double feature with another title.

I just bought the German blu-ray about two weeks ago because I didn't know this was an expected title. I'll definitely still get it since it's a CE.

From Facebook:

Quote:
**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**

Get ready to spend the night in a mansion full of the macabre as the 1999 remake of HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL is (finally) coming to Blu-ray from us this Fall! Here are the early details we have at present time:

• This will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date). U.S. and Canada territories (Region A).

Extras and specs are still in progress and will be announced later in September. What we can confirm today is that we will have a new high-definition transfer of the film and a new interview with Director William Malone. Extras from the previous DVD release will be ported over and more new interviews are underway.

• The newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from Joel Robinson (Silent Night Deadly Night, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Ninja III, etc). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will the original theatrical poster design.

• National street date is planned for Oct 9th. However, if you pre-order now for early shipping directly from us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/house...-collec… you will also receive an 18' x 24" rolled poster of the newly-commissioned art.

Keep your eyes peeled next week for more exciting October announcements!
The last part is hardly surprising of course, just remains to be seen how many...
