It's not happening unless Shout makes a deal with Studiocanal. Somehow a huge French conglomerate ended up with the rights to Manitou, Near Dark and Superstition. Lionsgate currently has US distribution rights to select Studiocanal titles but they haven't done much of anything with them. If it wasn't for the Vestron line, I would completely despise LG

I believe they're talking about the Moranis version. Sorry if the phrasing was confusing.

That being said, it would be nice to have a new edition of the 60's version. However, with it being in the Public Domain, I don't know if Scream would take charge of giving it a new edition.

I don't think we need a new edition of the Moranis version, anyway. The current edition is top-notch. They'd have to do more than add deleted scenes to get some sales.

Thanks, I love Showgirls. Gina Gershon was so hot and Elizabeth Berkley wasn't bad either. I was 16 when it opened in theaters on September 22, 1995 and obviously my hormones were working overtime. I had watched Berkley regularly on Saved by the Bell and couldn't believe she was doing this NC-17 movie. Unfortunately, there were no theaters within 100 miles of me that showed the film and me being 16, I wouldn't have been allowed in anyway. (only 18 and above) So, I had to wait for the VHS (rental) in January or February of 1996. Now, I can also appreciate other things the film offers such as the humor and its style and look. It's beautifully photographed and it's a lot of fun, too. It didn't deserve the hatred it got upon it's 1995 release.
We were talking about Jennifer Jason Leigh a few pages back, there's a very disturbing scene with her in EoaS. I wonder how old she was when they shot it, she looks so young.

As for Showgirls, I'm a major fan. I love pretty much everything Verhoeven does. I remember avoiding the film for many years because of its bad rep and when I finally saw it I loved it.

She was born on February 5, 1962 making her, currently, 56 years old. Eyes of a Stranger was released in theaters in 1981 which means it was probably shot in 1980. So she was probably 18 when they shot it.

I see. I think the character was meant to be younger, maybe that's why they made her look so young.

Does anyone know if Scream would ever release The Seduction (early ‘80’s) with Morgan Fairchild...pretty much a textbook stalker movie but fairly fun...was one of our first movie rentals in our teens and I remember she was smokin’ hot...

Yep, I would be in for that for sure. Even better if they could get a Tony Shalhoub interview...doubtful but you never know. I can watch that guy in anything.

Anyone own Raising Cain? Thoughts on it? With it being on sale at Best Buy again I might end up picking it up. It's currently the only on sale title that I don't own in any form.

It's only 14.99 at Amazon also.

I've never seen it though.

Great bargain for anyone who likes the movie, nice PQ on TC and has a nice director's cut and nice extras too.
