Scream tend to prioritize that peak period over SDCC impact. But given the Warner and Sony deals I'm certainly still expecting some big announcements this year.
This happens every year, and every year people post afterwards about their various disappointments with the SDCC announcements, because the titles tend to be a little more offbeat than what was anticipated or what was announced in the weeks leading up to SDCC (i.e. the September / October titles). That could certainly be different with the Warner and Sony deals in place, but I would strongly recommend that everyone dial back the expectations so as to avoid possible disappointment.

I could easily see Creepshow coming, after Trick 'r Treat it would only make sense to also release the other classic horror anthology movie around the same time.

Why should it be at least $100? It’s not a box set.

It's really helpful in heavy release months like we have coming up from all the different companies releasing stuff.

Its basically like the same deal you get with ordering a steelbook or a CE directly from their website. Youll get an exclusive poster/litho addon from direct ordering but in this case youll get a litho and a poster of alternate artwork. Good deal but the rigid slipcase is the standard release everywhere.

Im from Canada to I haven't ordered anything from the Shout Factory website cause conversion prices are not worth it when we have Amazon.ca. Im pretty happy ill be able to get the rigid slipcase as well.

OMG CREEPSHOW! How amazing! Re-release Factory does it again. Another double-dip for everyone to get excited about.

I'd be surprised if Warner had any real desire to hold onto many of these, so it's just a question of waiting. I expect a number to be announced at SDCC.
Haven't Warner mentioned that Alice Sweet Alice was supposedly coming to Warner Archive? Or was that just rumored? It's a great film, and at least there's a version from 88 Films, which is actually quite nice looking, considering the problems associated with it. And I'll agree with you that if we don't see Deadly Friend and Alone in the Dark show up at Scream Factory, they must certainly be coming from Warner Archive. They released similarly toned films: Night School being one of them.

Considering the original release doesn't have the best transfer, yes it is something to get excited about with this having a new transfer. Also these re-releases help pay for the new to Blu-ray stuff, so get off your high horse cause you look pretty ridiculous at that height.

Now this is a reasonable statement...well done. People want what they want...to see what another October go by and maybe see no Critters or Deadly Friend or proper JGTH release far out weighs to me than other stuff. I want what I want and I'll ***** and bum out if I please. It's not like I wasn't excited to see House on Haunted Hill and the Halloween III steel (favorite movie along with the Fog (the no new scan steel was a disappointment) and I'll buy those. let's face it many on these forums buy everything practically, I'm more picky to my own tastes so it hits me harder if the ones I want don't come in...so deal with it.

I hope there's a Gremlins Collector's Edition for Christmas that has a new transfer, because the movie desperately needs one.

I'm going to consider the Creepshow release, only because I don't actually have the current release. If picture/audio quality is the same on the previous release, I'll just get that at some point. I have a feeling Beetlejuice is in the queue.

Plus the original release didn’t have any bonus features either. It definitely deserved the Scream Factory collector’s edition treatment.

Hell yeah! I’ve been waiting to pick up Creepshow since I preordered the limited edition Arrow release of 2.

Edit : And come on guys... we’re better than this complaining over double dips and whatnot. Don’t buy them. It’s cool.
There will always be more customers to support our favorite labels that don’t mind double dipping or simply don’t have the title yet.

Ridiculous huh? I guess when you only buy a couple dozen blu-rays a year its easy not to care about the films that aren't being released. Or if you haven't been buying blu-rays all that long, its easy to get excited about releases for films that have already been released. You go ahead enjoy Scream Factory's kinda new releases CasualBlu-RayFan.

I remember last year's excitement pre-ComicCon--it was highly rumored that there was going to be a new deal with Paramount, Hell Night was slipped then denied, and people were generally hoping for Last House on the Left, Killer Klowns, and a few others that have since shown up elsewhere, or not at all. There has been a certain level of disappointment surrounding the last few years with SF, generally, but with the potential for Warner and Sony titles this year, there should be some good announcements, double dips or not. I was looking back on a Bloody Disgusting article regarding potential SF titles, and one that caught my eye was The Birthday, the 2004 Eugenio Mira film starring Corey Feldman, which has never been released. That seems like less and less of a possibility now that SF has moved on to bigger things, but it's certainly an interesting film, and in need of a solid HD release. I'll be thinking of my ComicCon predictions for a later post.

The SF Insider, for those who are following, DID say that Creepshow was part of the deal.
