Yes that's my theory too since this year is the 30th anniversary of Critters 2 the main course.

House on Haunted Hill, Creepshow, Halloween 2/3 4K and Trick R Treat i can't wait even Wasp Woman. I knew October will be an improvement over September despite some titles in september i'm looking forward to.

Why couldn't they thought of 4K scans to They Live, Prince of Darkness and The Fog? they should had thought about that.

I think more....seems weird to leave the 2nd, the 16th and the 30th open in October. Its the holy month of horror

That's why it's called Halloween treats.

And the second was that the 3-D aspect of Freddy's Dead is missing. So honestly, while Elm Street isn't the top of my list, there is some improvements to be done.

Edit: Oh, while this wasn't a flaw to me, many people also really want the uncut versions released.
Thanks, alternate or uncut versions would certainly justify a re-release.

The main area for improvement would be transfers, besides the first film they looked pretty poor.

We also need the uncut version of part 5, 3d ending for Freddy s dead and commentaries on the sequels so all in all plenty of room to upgrade.

But of course if you're happy with the original set them you can simply keep that and be happy for everyone else who is excited for the potential new one

The 2nd will be for the IFC titles as those always come in the first week of the month.

A big release is almost a dead cert for the 30th which just leaves the 16th unaccounted for...

Any chance for Jaws sequels to be announced this year as CE?

Don't forget the uncut version of the first movie too.

Loving what they have done for Creepshow, may have to double dip on it. Just ordered Nightmares, Dolls, Evilspeak, and Dreamscape. Blindbuys except for Dolls, looking forward to seeing the others.

Have the UK region free boxset of NOES, and bought the Never Sleep Again doc. separetly. So am good on it.

They're releasing The Wasp Woman on the 30th.

Scheduling a big title that close to Halloween might actually be a sales detriment. Non-shoutfactory.com / Amazon Prime customers might not receive it until after Halloween.

Is Piranha II still a collector's edition?

I've seen artwork with CE and without CE above the title, and I know it's light on extras so I was wondering if it somehow got downgraded to a standard edition.

Any reason why Scream/Shout is putting out Halloween 2 and 3 but not the first one as a steel to match these two future releases. At least a deluxe edition with a booklet like Creepshow would be cool.

It's worth noting that that didn't stop Vestron last year with Slaughter High. I pointed out the exact same reasoning last year as well and how scheduling a horror release for October 31st (or the 30th this year) seemed a bit bizarre to me.

On the topic of ANOES. These were my rough thoughts as to what I was wanting from a Scream Factory release and why I continue to hold onto my excitement for a potential re-release...

-Individual films in individual cases with original poster art in a slip box.
-New 4k OCN transfer of the original film.
-New 2k Scans of the OCN (or as close as possible) for the sequels
-Original audio options in addition to the remixed audio on all films.
-Uncut edition of part 5
-Restored 3D for part 6
-Tv Editions of all films
-Original Theatrical Trailers/tv spots
-Horrors Hallowed Grounds special feature for each film (I can verify that at least the first 4 already have this completed as part of horror hound magazine.)
-Port over the existing behind the scenes special features and commentaries either on each film disc or on one bonus feature disc.
-Include the first episode of Freddie's Nightmares on the disc.
-Include some of the old 1-900-freddy commercials and various tv promos.
-Preferably add Freddy vs Jason to the set
-Preferably add the remake to the set
-Preferably include Never Sleep Again
-60-100 page booklet with pictures, essays, and film info ala Halloween collection/Last House on the Left/Hills have Eyes, etc.
-Reproduction (or original artwork) poster.
-Original Lithograph (website exclusive)

Even without FVJ, The Remake, and NSA, the set would still be phenomenal.
It boggles my mind how anyone would look at this...

And think that that release is good enough in the face of what could be an absolute amazing effort by Scream Factory.

Scream Factory doesn't have the rights to release the first film.

Looking at their past releases there has always been a big title released at the end of October so I don't see why that would change now.

Hard to say but they did say they had some "jaw dropping" announcements coming.
