Sony is releasing a new 4k UHD Combo in a couple of months for this, so I don't think Shout! will be releasing it.

These steelbooks are probably a result of a strategy of how to continue the line prior to the Sony and Warner deals, when they seemed starved of potential new high-profile titles. I would hope there aren't too many more in the works but if they sell well I suspect there will be.

Weren’t we warned by a competing label (or other insider?) earlier this year that scream was going to be releasing a ton of 4K scan double dips? Was it on Shock Waves podcast possibly? Was it the guy from Severin?

will SCREAM jump into UHD and actually release all these again in true 4k versions???

When someone complained on other forum about Scorpion re-releasing certain titles with new scans, Walt retorted that other labels were planning the same thing. Seems like he was talking about Scream in particular.

Well I hope they do sooner rather than later because I'm not going to be able to justify that many double-dips....

Maybe...but do you really get excited about generic studio Blu-rays in eco packs? I don't.

Womp womp...another let down announcement. Funny thing for me, is I'd be more interested in some of these if they weren't a steelbook. For example, haven't gotten around to buying Lifeforce but actually really want it in my collection. Would opt for the 4K scan over the previous one but I'm not really liking steelbooks these days. Guess they're trying to give more incentive to the double dippers.

My question is will they use the 4K scan in a new CE? I’m not a fan of steel books.

Kind of frustrating to be honest... I newer saw myself upgrading Collector's Editions and for the most part I haven't. I do love steelbooks though and have a hard time passing them up if they have great artwork.

I resisted The Fog, Prince Of Darkness, They Live, Escape From New York...

but I flat out love the new Howling artwork and also the recently announced Halloween II. I'll wait to hear reviews to see if the newer transfers are indeed better I guess....
I called this practice happening when they announced the Ninja III double dip. Pretty much every title they have that sold well enough is going to get a new release with a new scan.

If you’re new to SF collecting, don’t bother buying any of the older releases except for the more obscure stuff. The mainstream/big sellers are going to get double dipped.

Isn’t it possible we get another announcement today? Have they done a steel book only announcement this week? I think they announced House on Haunted Hill on the same day as the Halloween steels

The studios they license from are unlikely to let them do it, at least not anytime soon.

I think (hope) there’s one last announcement later today.

Here's my rule: if it doesn't fit in my Blu-ray player, I'm not interested.

I'm a movie fan.

Booklets, slip covers, steelbooks and posters don't go in the BD player tray. Collectibles have their own forum.

Would be strange if October only has Wasp Woman as the only non-CE non-Steelbook horror release, especially after all of the Sony titles that September had. I suppose they might reveal some more next week when they announce their new regular non-label releases.

It would, but I'd expect a lot more double dips, and those are all very likely candidates.
