Just missing a commentary from Part 2, give me that and I’ll be satisfied... oh and also individual boxes with theatrical poster artwork.

Yes it would like the same thing for Halloween 5/Resurrection and the remake with it's sequel. |

They might also announce the original Terminator. That would probably be one of the last MGM titles they're interested in. MGM is the one studio that appears willing to license just about any film in their catalog (except James Bond of course). I could also see Weekend at Bernie's getting the Shout! Select treatment (existing Blu is barebones). I don't buy MGM catalog releases at all anymore because they will almost certainly be reissued by Shout! Factory, Criterion, or Arrow.

And the Friday the 13th set could always be better, even better than the WB tin. They never should have doubled the movies on the same discs anyways. I'm satisfied with the Tin set, but wouldn't mind if it was one day improved upon. But, there are other series that should be given good treatment first. |

I really wish Scream Factory could have put out Elvira: Mistress of the Dark this year. They seem like the perfect company to do that Bluray.

I absolutely refuse to buy the new set, even though it is at a fantastic price, because the box art is so bad. Like, among the worst I've ever seen... It just shows you how little Paramount actually cares for this franchise. I don't even mind the packaging for the individual films (though I'd obviously prefer original artwork). But I've just been buying the individual releases. 1-4 anyway, as I don't believe 5-8 have been released separately. If they don't get released, I'll stick to my DVD set I guess. I will admit it is a ridiculous stance to have, opposing a well priced set of movies I appreciate simply because the artwork is bad. But it's that bad... If anybody wants to poke fun of me for acting like a child in this particular situation, I can completely understand that... I'd do the same. I'm a weird dude, I know... |

There are a bunch of extras on the 2001 MGM DVD that didn't get ported over to the 2013 remastered Blu-ray. Still, I probably won't double-dip unless the original mono track in lossless is finally included.

If the set didn't include everything Engulnd/Craven/Lagenkamp related such as I Am Nancy, the uncut versions of 1 & 5, and the tv series, but did included that Plantinum Dump, at least one.

Scream puts out alot of good stuff, along with Shout. So far have been satisfied with all my purchases from them.

The focus is the movies or maybe, just maybe on Englund himself. I am Nancy while interesting for folks that want to absorb everly possible bit of content available around the series, is actually a distraction and wouldn't make sense as an advertised extra disc. As a tacked on special feature, sure why not, but to expect that doc to be included as if it's on the same level as the remake (for better or worse) or Never sleep Again is ludicrous. |

We do need a unrated JGTH yet, and Jason X. Both for people who never bought the tin but did buy the 1-8 set and dont want to track down that sketchy german release which still doesnt have a unrated JGTH. CE's would sell. A full set again though isnt really needed.

Since it was announced SF got that Sony/Warner deal I'm personally excited about Piranha II: The Spawning, In The Mouth Of Madness, Memoirs Of An Invisible Man, Someone's Watching Me!, The Tingler, Strait-Jacket, House On Haunted Hill, Trick 'r Treat & Creepshow so far... I know some of these have already gotten DVD and Blu releases in the past and some are complaining about double dipping and the steelbooks, but I personally think to each their own and they must be selling well enough for SF to continue doing it. Do I find these announcements "Jaw Dropping" not really, I expected some of them and I was still excited their getting the SF treatment. What I consider "Jaw Dropping" are films that either haven't been released on any media at all or we get a version of the film not seen before ( Director's Cut, Extended Cut etc)
These would be Jaw Dropping: Deadly Friend (1986) - Director's Cut of deleted scenes April Fool's Day (1986) - Deleted third Act (and yes I know it's with Paramount) All American Massacre (1998) - Never released Grizzly II: The Concert (1983) - Never released Ricky 6 (2000) - Never released The shockers are always when SF gives us the ultimate version of a film (The Exorcist III) or a first time on DVD/Blu (Deadly Blessing, The Final Terror, Willard, Ben & The Poughkeepsie Tapes) stc. I've been more disappointed in SF TV Terrors releases! We got a Double Feature of The Initiation of Sarah (1978), Are You in the House Alone? (1978), Body Bags (1993), Carrie (2002), Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990) & The Spell (1977). When SF asked if people were interested in TV Terrors 5 years ago I was expecting we'd get The Dark Secret of Harvest Home (1978), Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981), Chiller (1985), Crowhaven Farm (1980), Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973) etc. When SF announced I Saw What You Did (1965) I thought they'd atleast give use the tv remake I Saw What You Did (1988) as a bonus feature!!! |
