An uncut Part 2 is my biggest dream, closely followed by the alternate ending for Part 3.

As much as they say everything is lost and with actual proof that The New Blood cuts were destroyed (I believe Daniel Farrands or someone found this out, I don't remember the exact details), I still believe there are uncut prints out there somewhere of most the films. The Boston Backers estate could have untouched prints stored somewhere or they could be somewhere in the Paramount vaults mislabeled like the uncut Don't Look Now was. It's just hard to believe that five films (2, 3, 5, 6 and 7) have completely lost footage within the span of a decade. There are always possibilities, and I hope we find out for sure in our lifetimes.

Back on topic, I am pleased with the October announcements. I expect they have more up their sleeves for the rest of the year.

I haven't seen the I Am Nancy doc, and while I don't think it's exclusion would be a deal breaker, it would be nice. To me, Heather Langenkamp and Nancy Thompson are just as important to the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise as Robert Englund and Freddy Krueger. I feel the same way about Jamie Lee Curtis/Laurie Strode in the Halloween franchise and Neve Campbell/Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise. They're three of my favorite horror characters ever, and some of the few genuinely iconic horror protagonists. At the very least, Heather should be heavily involved in the bonus features for her three films.

Buy it, the set is pretty good and all the films look great, to my eyes at least.
The art is indeed atrocious, but you can always make custom covers with the original art, like I did.
The only thing that would make me update this set is if they release a new one with the MPAA trims properly restored, which IMO will never happen.
As for the uncut version of JGTH, never cared about that film anyway, so I'm good.

The TCM2 follow up with Chop Top? I remember a few years ago William Hooper set up a crowd sourcing page to finish post production, but minus a news report everything has disappeared from the internet about it. I hope it comes out one day. I remember seeing the trailer oh so long ago back on AOL.

I've been more disappointed in SF TV Terrors releases! We got a Double Feature of The Initiation of Sarah (1978), Are You in the House Alone? (1978), Body Bags (1993), Carrie (2002), Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990) & The Spell (1977).
When SF asked if people were interested in TV Terrors 5 years ago I was expecting we'd get The Dark Secret of Harvest Home (1978), Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981), Chiller (1985), Crowhaven Farm (1980), Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973) etc. When SF announced I Saw What You Did (1965) I thought they'd at least give use the tv remake I Saw What You Did (1988) as a bonus feature!!!
I would love to see April Fool's Day as well. And now that Shout has a deal with Warner, maybe we can get Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. I believe that is with Warner, and there is a DVD-R from Warner Archive?

A topic that has long fascinated me is the original ending for April Fool’s Day, as I could never find just what exactly had been cut out by Paramount during the editing process. Some theories describe a party scenario, while others mention a situation involving Muffy’s death, so I asked Walton to clear up the mystery of the missing scene once and for all.

“Don Bach wrote a third act which had always been in the script, and we shot it up there on the island,” explained Walton. “The kids take the ferry back to the mainland the next day (after the party scene), while Muffy remains behind to clean up the house. On the ferry, the kids decide to return immediately and pull an elaborate prank on Muffy to get back at her, to scare her as badly as she had scared them, which they do and it’s all in good fun, of course.”

“The whole thing took about 20 additional minutes of screentime, so when the Paramount execs saw the director's cut, they decided to drop the third act. It's not that they didn't like it so much as they felt the party scene hit such a high note that it was the natural place to end the picture. Frank convinced them, however, that audiences would want some kind of comeuppance for Muffy, so we put together that final scene with Muffy and Nan and the jack-in-the-box, and we shot it in L.A., months after we had left British Columbia, along with the bonfire sequence at the very end.”

The ending utilized was the perfect way to cap off April Fool’s Day and is another reason why the horror comedy remains one of the best of its era; so few movies can maintain such a frenetically fun pace and end with an impactful, gut-punch moment. Bach’s script was truly ahead of its time and, beyond some of the clothing, nothing in April Fool’s Day feels dated. It's still a ridiculous amount of fun to watch, even if you know the twists and turns going in.

That's why I'm hoping for a SF blu for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark since it's with Warner. I do already own the DVD-R from Warner Archive, but I would love a commentary and special features for that telefilm!!!

I too remember the trailer on AOL back in the late 90s, I'm sure it's probably a terrible film but it's one of the those films that I just want to see.....

I see a lot of people hoping they release Freddy's Nightmares in this thread (or maybe the same few people over and over again), but have these people actually seen the show? I have decent Chiller rips of the entire series on my computer and the show is astonishingly bad. I forget how bad it is sometimes, I'll try and watch an episode every couple of months and never make it more than 10-minutes before I turn it off. Cool theme music at least.

I think many people asking for it would be content with the first episode, "No More Mr. Nice Guy" as it is an origin story of sorts for Freddy and was directed by Tobe Hooper. But there are always completists who want it all!

I know some of these have already gotten DVD and Blu releases in the past and some are complaining about double dipping and the steelbooks, but I personally think to each their own and they must be selling well enough for SF to continue doing it. Do I find these announcements "Jaw Dropping" not really, I expected some of them and I was still excited their getting the SF treatment. What I consider "Jaw Dropping" are films that either haven't been released on any media at all or we get a version of the film not seen before ( Director's Cut, Extended Cut etc)
These would be Jaw Dropping:
Deadly Friend (1986) - Director's Cut of deleted scenes
April Fool's Day (1986) - Deleted third Act (and yes I know it's with Paramount)
All American Massacre (1998) - Never released
Grizzly II: The Concert (1983) - Never released
Ricky 6 (2000) - Never released
The shockers are always when SF gives us the ultimate version of a film (The Exorcist III) or a first time on DVD/Blu (Deadly Blessing, The Final Terror, Willard, Ben & The Poughkeepsie Tapes) stc.

I've been more disappointed in SF TV Terrors releases! We got a Double Feature of The Initiation of Sarah (1978), Are You in the House Alone? (1978), Body Bags (1993), Carrie (2002), Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990) & The Spell (1977).

I' glad Body Bags got a BD release and uncut and Psycho IV to complete the saga (not counting the lousy remake).

I don’t know..I had it all DVR’d from the El Rey Network and while it wasn’t anywhere close to award winning material some episodes were enjoyable to me. Plus it was cool to see some famous actors on the show...young and years before making a name for themselves. Not that seeing those actors make the show re-watchable, it’s just not as awful to me as it is to others.

Weekend at Bernies could use a CE BD.

April Fools Day should be deleted completely. Terrible movie. IMO of course.

That movie pissed me off when I saw it years ago. It felt like a total waste of time.
