No, they’re all with WB. A majority of people that aren’t completionists would be fine with just having 1 and 2, but I have to think when SF releases them, it will be a 1-4 set. The fact that DiCaprio is in 3 helps it being included.

Back on topic, So we've got 10 days of speculation and anticipation for the SDCC announcements. Highlights:

Everybody wants another Friday the 13th set but some people think an Elm Street box would be a waste of time. How does this make sense? The F13 trims and deleted footage are gone - people need to get over it.

Everybody wants a Critters Collection but someone here claims they were told only the first two are being released. Does another studio own the rest?

Everybody wants Poltergeist but Hooper is dead and Spielberg has probably already said everything he's willing to say about the production. Warner blew this one off for a reason.

Lots of people are asking for action movies like Demolition Man, Cobra and Steven Seagal movies but I don't see Shout picking any of these up - at least not within the first year of the deal. The first year will be all tentpoles. Maybe for Father's Day 2019.

Some people are wondering whether Warner Archive titles are fair game - I don't think they are. Maybe once the big guns are exhausted?
F13 and ANoES are just not coming. People need to accept this. As much as I'd love to see an uncut version of the New Blood, or an uncut Dream Child, it's very, very doubtful. The F13 tin is great, and probably the best we will ever get. ANoES could use a flashy set, but I just can't see SF getting rights to this project at this time.

I was told Critters 1 and 2 would be coming to Blu-ray; it was unknown if this would be from Shout Factory, or if 3 and 4 were involved, but I assume it is/they are. It remains to be seen if this will be a ComicCon announcement, but I'll bet that it is.

Poltergeist needs a CE Blu-ray, but given it's history, it seems unlikely. I hope I'm wrong about this.

I have no interest in Demolition Man, which makes me think SF might release it at ComicCon. As far as the other action films, I don't have much interest there, either. I'll take Glimmer Man any day of the week, though.

Where Shout Select is concerned, I'm hoping to see Surviving the Game, Cruising, Fandango, and hopefully a few other surprises. So far they've offered no interesting Select titles since Wild at Heart.

The announcement of "10+ titles" makes me believe there is a set involved. Probably Critters. Even if we get nothing else from SF this year, I'm fairly happy with what we're getting. Brainscan is the big winner for me.

If a Poltergeist CE ends up happening and includes a brand new doc about the making of it I hope so much that it's just not everyone bashing Tobe Hooper now that he's gone. After his death, a story was told by someone he worked with on the Shock Waves podcast that Hooper was approached to do a commentary/interview for the Blu-ray or DVD and he asked if Spielberg and maybe certain producers were participating. When he was told they were not, he passed on it because he felt it only fair, given the history, that he should only tell his side of the story if others were able to tell theirs.

FYI: Scream Factory will be a guest on the Shock Waves podcast toward the end of the month, soon after Comic Con.

Let's also not forget that it's pretty much impossible to license anything from Paramount that they've already released on disc in any format.

For most releases pre-ordering will get you the release 2 weeks early. Occasionally they'll offer a "deluxe" package on a release that will net you 3 weeks early shipping, but 2 is the standard for 99% of the releases.

You'll have to share your thoughts on the film after you've watched it either here or in the Indie horror thread linked in my signature. There hasn't been much in the way of Indie horror lately that's warranted a discussion (apparently no one purchased/saw The Midnight Man as it's another title I want to hear others opinions about) and Pyewacket is a film I had a bit of interest in as well so I'd be curious to hear whether you enjoy it or not.

A totally open and honest sit-down chat between Spielberg and Hooper on the making of that movie would have been one of the most fascinating things ever.

I'm pretty satisfied with the announced CEs. I have the full set going, and titles like Teen Wolf Too and Robocop 3 had really put a strain on continuing that. No such issues this year.

No, we still need the unrated JGTH. The talk of the paramount owned stuff is just wishing but Scream could get the new line Friday the 13th movies from WB. Releasing those would make more sense and would sell well. A lot of fans out there, more so than some of the double dips.

It's a Disney film in the US, so a domestic release from any label is unlikely. I would suggest importing the German release, while it's still available. It is region free and modestly priced for import.

Many people trash this film for whatever reason, I think its a pretty solid and fun sequel. Had a great time watching it in the theater back in the day. Would def get it if Scream released it.

That would have been amazing. Just the two of them laying it all out. Hooper was someone who I enjoyed in interviews. Then you get simple his Eaten Alive introduction on the Arrow blu: "Enjoy the colors" haha. But he's more open in the interview format.

I would love to know Spielberg's thoughts on the whole "controversy" these days. And his modern day thoughts on John Landis.

Anyway, still can't wait for these Comic Con announcements. I hope they are good ones.

As far as An American Werewolf in Paris goes, I wouldn’t rule out a Kino Studio Classics special edition release at some point. Disney seems to have opened up the Hollywood pictures catalog to them. If Deep Rising got a special edition, perhaps this one will too?

I forgot about Kino's deal with Disney, but I think they had similar limitations on that deal that they had with Paramount. I think they've already announced all, but a few TV films, from that deal as well.

Scream Factory just announced that they have pushed back Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation until October 30th, 2018. No reason specified.

That was my thought as well.

That also dramatically changes my purchasing plans. TCMTNG was an easy day one buy at it's old release date. October 30th is not much different to me from December 25th as by that point I've already wound down my horror marathon for the month before taking a break and moving into a short horror break and then Christmas films. It's also close enough to Christmas to warrant a holiday gift idea as my mind is usually on Holiday shopping first and films for myself second. I still am very much looking forward to the release and will definitely be picking it up eventually, but now it's sort of in a grey area of "whenever I get to it".
