They also confirmed in a FB thread that they do not have "Dawn" and went on to say that the rights owner would not work with them. So, that rules out "Martin" and "The Nightflier", as well.

Ha, Rubinstein flat out wont work with them? I wonder what that means, exactly. Is he refusing Shout/Scream on principle or do they mean he won’t negotiate with them on the price?

I’d genuinely love to hear exactly what Rubinstein thinks he’s holding out for.

He's holding out for a huge pile of money that most likely won't come. It's sad that he owns the rights to Dawn & Night Flier.

It really is genuinely sad. Poor George.

Also, I moreso mean I’d love to know what his exact number is and if he has any other demands to go along with it, like if he won’t work with certain companies or if he requires theatrical distribution of the 3D version.

The fact that SF went out of their way to name DOTD as the title they’d love to release but can’t, out of the hundreds of other titles they could have said, makes me wonder.

Good deal. I'll be the guy that gets to complain about "yet another double dip" since I have this...

I have that, too, as well as the Anchor Bay DVD Box Set, which was pretty definitive, and the Synapse blu of "Document of the Dead". With all of the cuts and features in that set, and the main feature on blu, I feel I'm pretty caught up with this title, as well.

I'd be more excited for a blu of "Martin", which isn't going to happen any time soon. I have the old budget DVD from Lionsgate, and will hold onto it for dear life for the time being. I have the budget DVD from Lionsgate of "Alligator", as well, and will hold onto it, too.

I still hope Scream can AT LEAST give me "The Hand" from my wish list. And I'd love an official release of "The Haunting of Julia", a super creepy mid-70s, Peter Straub written ghost story/slasher.

Guess we'll see....

At least she'll be nice enough to give rights to Dawn to Shout or Arrow or Criterion once Richard passes away.

Did it ever occur to Richard that 3D is no longer a thing and audiences were getting tired of it? he should had gotten the message before doing that damn 3D Dawn thing.

I'm not terribly interested in that Kino Universal deal, mainly because they're probably going to focus primarily on pre-1980's. I know the insider said the deal covers titles up to 2009 but that'll likely still be "prestige" films. My preferred era/genre is horror/sci-fi from 1980-1995. I'm also expecting a lot of reissues like Fried Green Tomatoes.

With Steelbook 4K restored releases lately, i'm sure The Burning, Phantasm 2, The Funhouse, From Beyond and Darkman in the works.

Sad, even though I have a copy I still want these releases to be in print as long as possible.
