I'm sure Candyman would be more high profile then Deadly Friend.

Sure, but he was talking about WB.

Australia Braindead About Dead Alive

Okay you guys, I've been reading & reading about almost every OOP horror movie under the sun desired from you guys, but all I want from Scream Factory is:

Unrated, rated, whatever....this movie deserves a proper re-release, especially since this was the film Peter Jackson made before he got big. Call it Braindead, Dead Alive, I don't care, gimme a new master & disc of this one!

Nabbed a used copy of Nomads at FYE earlier today.

Was priced at $14.99, but a 40% off coupon dropped it down to $9.70 total.

I honestly don't know why Scream Factory doesn't just take the new 4K remaster of The Howling and do a proper box set at this point.

Seriously, they have 1/2 through their MGM deal, I think they flat out OWN 3/5/6, and they'll have access to 7 since they've finally broken the Warner Bros. vault. All they need is 4 (which should be easy). The reboot doesn't necessarily need to be included, but if they want it, then reach out to Anchor Bay/Liongate maybe?

Or at least just release individual versions of 3/5/6/7 and call it a day.

As far as I'm aware, there is no new 4K remaster for the first film.

I ordered Vicious Lips and Timebomb earlier tonight when I was grabbing some CDs from Amazon.

One might argue that I'm scraping the bottom of the Scream/Shout barrel, but I've done that many times before and have always been entertained.

Timebomb is a solid movie, it's been a long time since I've seen it but I remember being impressed.

Decided that the time was right and sprung for a copy of the Indicator release of "Happy Birthday to Me" earlier tonight.... so of course I expect that Scream Factory will probably be announcing the title at Comic Con now. (I'd be ok with this honestly... especially if it meant When a Stranger Calls was also announced for its own single disc release).

Trust me, Matthew and Renee have nothing against TCM NG. Don't believe everything you read. Whatever's causing the delay it has nothing to do with them.
My money is on they're having trouble locating the film elements of the extended cut for a proper HD restoration.

I don't know if it was a joke further back in the thread, but I do not think anyone wants deadly friend.

I legitly would love a critter box set if it exists, within reasonable pricing.

Then what would be the reasoning for removing them from the original newly commissioned art?

I hadn't even thought about this movie for almost thirty years when I stumbled across a DVD copy at Big Lots for $3. When I watched the DVD, I was surprised to learn it starred Kristy Swanson (the original Buffy), and had the "basketball" scene I remembered but had forgotten which movie it was in.

Personally, in regards to Critters, I only want the first one, so a box set would be a turn-off.

I also recently purchased the Indicator release of Happy Birthday to Me, as well as the Second Sight release of Xtro, so I wouldn't be surprised if both of those will be announced next week. Both releases will be hard to top, in my opinion.

Not necessarily pop culture darlings like Beetlejuice mainstream (which I still think will turn out to be one of the announcements) but definitely not something as obscure as Deadly Friend. Critters is in that sweet spot as is Candyman though I have my doubts regarding the later at this point.
I agree that Deadly Friend isn't big enough to qualify as a Comic Con announcement (I think). But anyone suggesting that the film isn't on Shout's radar or that nobody wants it is as delusional as David Steigman on a bad day. Wes Craven is gold around these parts and even if Deadly Friend were one of his worst films (it isn't) it'd still be considered a top release. My only fear is Warner not letting Shout license it for whatever reason.

Oh come on the second one is arguably better than the first for various reasons. I can understand not wanting 3 or 4 but with Leonardo in the 3rd I could see a box set since the DVDs were released together. I think no 2 at least would bum a lot of people out.

I dont know, Im mostly expecting nothing much but double dips at this point. At least this time I wont be surprised. I am very curious what WB will release for October though, now seeing the double dips maybe WB held on to some of those titles we thought Scream had.

I agree about XTRO, but the current HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEs have zero input from anyone actually involved in the making of the film. A commentary, a few interviews and a new scan would definitely be worth an upgrade.
