I know we still have some time before release, but usually I feel like there's some movement by now.

I guess the "no pre-orders elsewhere" rule is preventing the prices to go down.
Im not sure how Amazon.ca currently chooses its pre order prices. No shops in Canada sell (not counting import) Scream Factory since its a US import but right now our ITMOM pre order is sitting at 28.99 and ROTLD2 is 26.08... Incredibly strange to get a release cheaper than amazon.com this time.

Forgive my ignorance but when SF announces releases at Comic Con it is usually for release next year, correct?

For November, December (likely the near full slates for these 2 months) and the first half of 2019.

Usually. Or really late in the year, like December.

:: COMIC CON PREDICTIONS::

Okay, for what it's worth, here's what I'm predicting for the big reveals. I'm calling the Critters Box Set (1-4), Sorority House Massacre II/Hard to Die (technically already announced from Wynorski), Valentine, and either Alone in the Dark or Deadly Friend as the retro titles; probably a few more "wow" titles mixed in with Shout Select, too; I'll call out Surviving the Game, and maybe Single White Female and/or Year of the Dragon. Would not be surprised to see Beetlejuice or Gremlins as double-dips, unless it turns out these are too high profile (I'm guessing that they are), in which case the double dips will be NotLD90, Fright Night, and the Blob.

I'm going to say Candyman and Elm Street are NOT getting Scream Factory announcements this year, and maybe ever. Probably anything Friday the 13th is off limits, as well. As much as I'd like Jason Goes to Hell in an unrated edition, I'm going to guess that it's an off-limits franchise.

Anyone else want to give their educated guesses?

My guesses (I'll say 12 if they're saying 10+):

Critters Box Set (I'll count this as one title)
Lost Boys (CE)
Gremlins (CE)
The Blob (CE)
Night of the Living Dead '90 (CE)
Alone in the Dark (CE)
Valentine (CE)
He Knows You're Alone
The Swarm
Killer Party
House IV
Screamers

I'm venturing a guess that it'll be the Critters box set and 7 - 10 mainstream Warner / Sony titles that already have North American Blu-Ray releases. Probably not Gremlins or The Shining, since Warner has Steelbook reissues for both coming in September.

Very nice. Screamers is a good one, and it seems like one no one is really expecting it, which makes me think it's a possibility. Lost Boys is one of my favorite horror films, but I'm going to say it's too high profile. House IV seems like a possibility, too.

Shout just announced Saved by the Bell complete collection on DVD. Totally unrelated to their horror titles or blu-ray, but just here to say, Shout is still good in my books! I'll be somewhat double-dipping on this because they're adding Good Morning Miss Bliss and the College Years, which I don't have. Very happy with their All in the Family set, so looking forward to this one as well.

As far as predictions for comic con. I'm predicting Valentine, Critters Set, Sorority House 2/3, Cry Wolf, Beetlejuice, The Lost Boys, Candyman, and some other more niche stuff that I'll have to look up what it is.

If House 4 is announced I hope it has new features besides the ones from the UK Arrow region free release.

This would be a great lineup (mostly). I already have 2 editions of The Blob and Gremlins is meh. Valentine is too new - doesn't feel like a Comic Con announcement. Everything else would be great

I already made some predictions a week or two ago so I won't throw out my full list, but I expect more mainstream double dips than new to blu announcements. Beetlejuice, mad max 2, beyond thunderdome, goonies, Gremlins, etc.

Timebomb and Vicious Lips both arrived in the mail.

I've been on the fence about both of these titles for a long time now, but I need to come clean about my real reason for deciding to purchase them at long last...

A friend and I went to the Retro Futura 80s concert last week, and enjoyed seeing performances from ABC, Belinda Carlisle, Modern English, Tony Lewis of The Outfield, Limahl of Kajagoogoo, and Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow. After the show, I got to thinking about how much I used to love The Outfield album, Play Deep, when I owned it on cassette tape over 30 years ago, and I had a hankering to listen to it again.

The good news is that the CD of The Outfield - Play Deep was only $4.99 on Amazon.

The bad news was that this $4.99 CD was one of those limited items with Amazon's saver bundle service that required that it can only be ordered in conjunction with an order of $25 or more.

So, I rolled my eyes, remembered that I had been wanting Timebomb and Vicious Lips, and pulled the trigger on all three items.

I'm fortunate that I had enough money in the bank to make such a decision on a whim, but I also think that Amazon needs a kick in the pants for their saver bundle rule on certain items.

The sequel to the new adaptation isn't out until next fall, so I'm guessing we'll see a CE of the 1990 version around then.

That's a good record. I hated how they did a parody of "Your Love" for that Downy commercial though.

Cassettes......yeah, the good ole days!

Anyone been getting any newer non slip release in the more square cases that Universal sometimes uses?
