Sony has a movie called Patient Zero coming to VOD 8/14, and “in theaters” (probably just a few) on 9/14, with no physical release announced yet. This might be a future SF announcement.

Okay, I'll give you "Just One Of The Guys". It can sit next to my copy of "Better Off Dead".....

Any interested in the "Police Academy" movies in a US box set? Maybe Shout could finally get this one out?

And for God's sake, please fix that all Region cover! Boo!

I imported that "Police Academy" set. The back has tiny versions of all the original poster art for all the films. They look and sound great, too, from what I've seen. But, yes, that front cover is awful.

Moreover, Warner released this themselves overseas, and released a DVD-only set that looks exactly the same here in the US (you can get this set on DVD only at Wal-Mart and other places), so therefore have likely licensed out the US blu ray rights. And since Criterion are, I'm certain, not looking to get this, then Shout is likely your best bet...

For those wondering about "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?", it is with Criterion, now.

That cover is so awful that it is almost a work of art.

Patient Zero Trailer - On Digital 8/14, In Theaters 9/14 - YouTube
Amazon Canada has that down for an October 23rd release, from Sony:

https://www.amazon.ca/Patient-Zero-B.../dp/B07F9GH8PW

I'm not that familiar with Canadian releases, and don't know whether that would be a guarantee of a Sony release here too, or not?

Maybe at the end of this month or next month they might do that.

And would you love to see Criterion do Freaks?

Always enjoyed watching the Police Academy films. Specially the first two. Would be a great surprise to see Shout get it.

Is the reason why the Police Academy series wasn't released in the US still a mystery?

i think demo might go in scream since it's sci-fi and you know Scream does sci-fi besides horror, suspense and thrillers.

The hitcher
those would be sweet even Single White Female and Thirteen Ghosts needs a BD badly even Hitcher.

We are all anxious to hear what surprise announcements, any of our wishlists would be sweet especially Sony, WB, Universal and ITC aka ITV titles since the ITC horror films are streaming on amazon prime as if they did Stepfather trilogy boxset they should remaster the first one in 2K or 4K.

Anyone betting late this month or early next month they might announce 4K remastered steelbook Day of the Dead?

I predict four or five titles that no one has even mentioned (or hardly mentioned) which will bring very little excitement, three or four double dips or steels that some people will think is great and others will say oh great more double dips and one or two that will actually be considered a big deal to many. If that one or two is something I'm really wanting I will consider it a success if even the rest are not for me.

Hopefully the deal with WB is long term so even if nothing now, there is always next year.

I'm more interested in what we might see in the months ahead with regards to Warner titles as opposed to something like Beetlejuice being revealed as one of next Summer's releases. The Hand, for instance, isn't a Comic Con-worthy announcement but I see Shout releasing it soon-ish rather than later without the fanfare of a big reveal. As far as steelbooks, I seriously doubt a steelbook double dip will make it into the batch of titles being announced. These are more like side projects Shout will leave for quieter times.

What about some bareboned BDs that have weak transfers and can use some extras and new transfers like Dr Giggles for example?

Most of the films look fine. Police Academy 3 looks more like a watercolor painting than film.

Though the Warner and Sony deals offer more scope than usual, I think you're seriously overestimating what constitutes 'a Comic Con-worthy announcement'.

wowhd.ca, bestbuy.ca and zeusonline.ca carry Scream/Shout as do Sunrise Records and Cinema1 albeit the last two are instore.
