You are probably alone in this opinion of "Freddy Vs. Jason" & in fact it still holds up. As for a reissue of the film, my Blu-Ray copy still holds-up and probably doesn't need the double-dip.

Do you think people would rather see a Scream Nightmare on elm st box set or individual collector editions for each film? If they do release them separately I would probably just buy 3 & 4 since I already own the original on blu and it looks great

IMO, the current blu-ray of the original doesn't look as bad as the sequels (black crush ) but it could definitely use a 4K remaster.

If they did pick up the entire franchise, I'd prefer a box set to match the gorgeous Halloween collection for sure.

Just use red and green cases instead of black.

Me, too.

What is this myth about Bullmoose and Deep Discount being "punished" for shipping early? They aren't shipping these damn things two weeks early, they're shipping them a few days in advance for arrival around street date. I think it's more of an attempt to generate more profit by "forcing" the consumer to buy direct or from Amazon (the sales volume from Amazon is likely too large to cut them off) for a period of time.

Individuals. I would just buy the 1st 3 and give away the set I have now.

It's on SF if they end up losing customers and/or sales.

Wishing for, but NOT expecting.... "The Hand", "Alligator", "The Haunting of Julia", "The Hitcher"....

And from Select, "Year of the Dragon", "Forced Vengeance"....

"Cruising", which could be Scream or Select, I suppose...

Dream announcements would include, "Fingers" (NEVER gonna happen), and "Fort Apache, The Bronx"....

YOU could make a documentary short about the Friday the 13th franchise right now and no one could stop you. Though it would help to get WB/Paramount to sign off on letting you use footage from the films in said hypothetical documentary. But they couldn't stop you from interviewing people about their experience on those films. They have every right to talk about the movies they were a part of, irrespective of any lawsuit.
What about artwork, though? Wouldn't it fall under the same legalities that are forcing Gun Media to halt production on all assets for the video game? If I recall correctly, they're not able to create anything new for the game, whether it be a ripple in the lake or a new Jason "skin". Bloody Disgusting recently had an article that showed a couple of hidden, collectable photos that players could find (Pamela working at the diner, and Jason as a child dressed up as Frankenstein's monster), and they weren't allowed to use them despite being created in their art department.

Since I know ****-all about copyright legalities, it all sounds relative to me.

I’m really hoping for The Hitcher, I watched it last year on HBO Now and it looked horrible. There were bars on all 4 sides and in SD.

This, please. I would love a Scream Factory-style Nightmare set.

I'd take FvJ any day over NoES 5, 6 and the remake, also over Jason Goes To Hell, Jason X and the F13 remake

You are correct. Nothing new can be created for the franchise at this time. I would imagine commissioned artwork would fall under this umbrella. Special features themselves may or may not have the same problem, but it's hard to say for sure since it could be argued either way. Regardless, it'd be foolish to even attempt a release while the lawsuit is still up in the as the downside far exceeds the potential upside.

I agree with you on all except the remake, which I didn't hate as so many others seemed to.

I'll also take it over Halloween 5 and 6 and 8, while we're at it

Secondly, I have no doubt it would be a huge seller. It's Freddy AND Jason.
I wouldn't say it respected Friday the 13th at all, it's fun in it's own way, but man it was Freddy movie through and through.

Made Jason afraid of water (even the makers of the current Friday the 13th game pointed out how stupid that is considering how often he's used it to stalk and kill his victims) as well as basically Lenny from Of Mice and Men. Made part 2 Jason look like Jigsaw (the MacGuyver of horror villains).
It was a Nightmare on Elm Street movie (I mean New Line made the film) with a monster resembling Jason but could easily have been any one of the Jason imitators.
It's not terrible like the remake and better made than X, but it's not a good Friday the 13th/Jason movie (much like Halloween H:20 was well made but not really a Halloween film). It was more in the vein of ANOES 4-6.

Diabolik hinted a couple of weeks ago that SF wasn’t happy with retailers that ship before release date. It was assumed they just meant Diabolik. Little did we know, that included just about every retailer not named Amazon, who will gladly take your preorder at full price, since there’s no competition.

Oddly enough, Amazon ships before release date too.

Absolutely never for me, usually a couple days later.

Also Scream factory promotes early shipping on pre-orders when ordering direct. I think the issue has more to do with that. They don't want competition doing it early as well.
