This is my first time preordering anything. But the charge is on my credit card then goes away then comes back again. It keeps doing that. Is this normal?

Many think it was just an error. Somebody bought Return of the Living Dead Part II at ComicCon and the shrinkwrap was over the slipcover.

My copy of Ninja 3 arrived that way from amazon as well. Wasn't sure if this was a new trend or not.

Just talking about the cover art - not the movies themselves. I've been asking for Candyman for years lol already have Urban Legend though.

I'm puzzled by the lack of a US release for Beastmaster. It's one of those all-time mystery MIA titles like Peter Jackson's Dead Alive or The Abyss/True Lies. Could the rights be controlled by StudioCanal?

Thought for sure Scream had Beastmaster, 8MM, the Hard Way, and Unlawful Entry, since I own imports of all of these. The first Umbrella release of Beastmaster was region B locked, but the new one is region free, and it looks good.

It looks like They Live will be at the Venice Film Festival as a part of their restored films portion:

I do wonder if this is a brand new restoration, or just the most recent one available in HD.

Sort of? Maybe?

Usually, when I pre-order directly through them, the fully charge hits right away. Then it goes away after a few days or so, and then gets split up based upon when each item ships. It's weird each time it happens for me. And not sure if that happens for everyone, since it sounds like yours went away, and then the entire cost showed up again.

As I’ve said before, I have no doubt that They Live gets a new release with a 4K scan. It’s one of SF’s top selling releases, and a double dip is a no brainer.

Wouldn't a new release count as a triple dip though cause of the recent steel? Maybe they can throw in a Roddy Piper figure and some bubble gum...or maybe they're all out...

The restoration of They Live was undertaken by StudioCanal, so obviously intended for the European market. There's no guarantees Scream will get access to it, and they've already re-issued the title as a steelbook, so who knows how they'd do it. There are also rumours that SC have carried out a new restoration of The Fog.

Can confirm I received both this way. I've gotten pretty much every CE right on release date and these are the only two to do that since the earliest titles. I'm not sure why they went back to this method.

Yeah, my slipcover for ITMOM was the same way, and it wasn't in great shape. A bit of a bummer, but the plastic case and disc were fine, so no biggie, especially since I got that low pre-order price. First blu I'd ordered from Amazon in a long time and I was immediately reminded why. lol

Amazon shipped my copy of ITMOM with 20 lbs of canned chicken breast and a pair of boots... My slip looks like you'd expect.

Yeah, it throws me off the way they do this, so I now place all my orders for Shout Factory through Paypal. That way the money comes out immediately, it's done, it's paid for, I'm just waiting for it to ship.

Seeing the ITMOM abbreviation made me think of some odd It and Parents mash-up. Like an It-like creature is terrorizing some kid as the form of his (maybe dead) mother, but it's schlocky as hell so it's called "It Mom!"

Or

There is an it-like creature and a single mother doesn't believe her kid, then she does, and the key trailer-scene is the kid in front of his mom pointing off screen screaming "It, Mom!!!!" then a freeze frame on the mom's shocked face as those words appear on screen in red letters, with the company credit and copyright year on the bottom.

Did we just plan a movie? Are we a movie studio now?

Ok, carry on. I hope my Memoirs and Someone's Watching Me blus ship from Shout soon. Lining up a nice Carpenter marathon.

I've usually had OK luck with slipcovers and Amazon. USUALLY.

I am, however, a bit worried about what my copy from Best Buy will look like tomorrow. Other than RECENT Disney/Marvel/SW steelbooks, they usually pack them in those tight, corrugated "envelopes", and whoever packs them clearly doesn't care about the slipcover's position before they seal it. My UHD copy of A QUIET PLACE will pretty much only slip in, or out, through the top. The bottom is crimped just enough that it won't allow it. I was super happy about it.
