So I've never ordered from the Scream Factory website but I think I'm gonna start. What has your guys experience been with them? Do the movies come in good condition? I notice when they ship it with the poster they host put it in the box with it which could cause it to move around and ding the corners of the slipcover.

This is why I wondered if anyone had outright asked about it, surprised nobody has. And of course there is more chance of an improved set than what warners spat out.

I wish the folks who have some knowledge on this would drop some information on us. I posed this question in the Hammer thread and didn't get much.

Eric Freeman's performance is the only reason to see it. It feels like something that was written in an afternoon but its lead hams it up so much I'm willing to forgive just how lackluster the story itself is, especially when compared to the film that came after where Bill Moseley appears to be sleepwalking through it as the same character.

They're counting the six alternative titles, just covering their bases I guess.

I would buy all of those. I already own 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12 and 13 but if they're upgrades over the previous blu-rays in the PQ/AQ department, I'll add them to my Hammer collection again.

Big fish, little fish yes, but I think Nightmare on Elm Street is a strong possibility. We've been asking for it the moment we found out Shout had a deal with Warner. And the boxset came out years ago so why not milk more money out of that? Same with Child's Play 2 & 3. Give it a couple of months on Universal's release and Scream will announce it a year or so later. Those movies are ripe for collector's editions. Plus the DVD's and blu-ray are bare bones for 2&3. The benefit of a new NOES boxset is releasing the uncut versions of the films, restoring the original soundtracks, and new transfers.
I'm sure they will happily release anything they're able to get. What I don't get is the deal with all the films everyone is always asking about, and the ones SF knows everyone wants. Alone in the Dark, Deadly Friend, Valentine, Surviving the Game, Cruising, etc. Are these films not available? If not, why? Does Warner Archive have plans for them? And if so, when? If Scream Factory asked for these properties, why wouldn't they get them, unless Warner had their own plans for releases?

Anyone heard anything in regards to Sorority House Massacre II/Hard to Die double? I was immensely excited for this one but it SF hasn't announced it officially - not sure what they're waiting for. Their comment about stirring away from obscure titles in the podcast is a little alarming. I also reached out to Wynorski on FB regarding these films and if they're still being released. His response, 'I hope so'.

Wouldn’t surprise me now if it’s been scraped. One of the reasons why i liked Scream Factory so much was because of their obscure titles. Now it seems they are heading into Mainstream territory which totally sucks.

Speaking of this, I’ve noticed that SF has cut back on double features. They released several of them years ago, but they’ve dried up since, seemingly because people complained about them not being released separate. If releasing obscure films as double features helps them get released, go for it.

It's not because of people complaining, it's because they are by far their worst sellers. Cliff has talked multiple times on Shockwaves podcast about how poorly they sell.

From what I remember, some sold fine, but many not. Love at First Bite/Once Bitten was one that I remember sold well. Scarecrows was an example of a title that was supposed to be part of a double feature, but was made its own release due to complaining. Then it sold poorly anyway.

My point is, I’d rather release them in double (or even triple) features instead of not at all.

I will say that Scream did release quite a few obscurities this year, far more than I would've thought (and many of which I picked up at the most recent sale).

I'm with you, I'd love to get a bunch of lesser known films bundled together at a reasonable price.

I'm guilty of not buying Scarecrows (I did not complain about it being in a double though), it's always on the wishlist but keeps getting moved down and down due to new shit being announced every day.

It was so moronic. Oh, you want to provide an extra film with Scarecrows? No, remove it please.

I think one reason the lesser-known titles have had a problem recently is just the sheer volume of titles available now. You have hundreds of titles in Scream's library, you have all the Code Red and Scorpion stuff, Kino has stepped up their game, labels like MVD and Mondo Macabro have stepped in, Vestron started up, Synapse and Blue Underground are still plugging along. Back in 2013 there was very little catalog competition for stuff like Vampire Lovers or Q. Nowadays it's lost in the flood.

Not only is it awesome - it was a bit of a holy grail before the DVD was released and on a lot of people's wishlists. Now we know some people just talk to talk.

Scarecrows is my favorite Scream bluray, awesome movie, loved it ever since I saw it in VHS rental back in the 80's.

Wouldn't be surprised if they scrapped it, but I think it would be a very dumb move. Not just one of those--but both of them--have been long time wants on many, many lists. These two films are a high priority for any cult/horror collector, and it seems like it would be a good seller. But then again, most people wouldn't rather complain about it than buy it, so maybe they said hell with it. They could be reevaluating their business model and staying away from the older cult titles.
